Notable topics used to be added to the Best of Cythera archive at the end of every year (I think). I don't think that this has been done in the past couple of years (since the end of 2004 I believe), so I am asking if people would like to add notable topics from 2005 and 2006 to the archives and, if so, which topics should be added?

Note: There might not be much point to having this as a separate topic from the New Story topic where the archives are kind of being talked about right now.

I've been here for less than a year, I'm no help.
And the winner of the text only entry goes to CrazyChick for "Watch for B&B on bridge." Encountering the B&B anywhere is dangerous enough. Throwing a bridge into the recipe is an equation for disaster. - Ragashingo

Your link to Best of Cythera seems to be broken.

It was Echos from the Past that got me hooked on Cythera!

Thanks, it's been fixed (apparently insert Topic Link is different from insert Link).

Yeah, Echoes was a fun TS (as well as my first), but I think that it's already in the archives.

To everyone new to this procedure, remember topics added to the archives don't have to be TSs, just notable and worthwhile topics. So which ones do you think fit this description?

Wow, there are a lot of inside jokes in that story (read the cast list) that I forgot about.

I'll probably reorganize the archives at some point in the future, especially the story section, so that its less of a confusing mess.

Well, look at the types of topics generally posted on these boards. A majority of them are questions about the game, which while it might be useful to compile them into a FAQ (kind of what Slayer's guide does already), individually they're not that notable. The next largest category would be greeting new members, followed by the taverns and stories (and story-related topics), the latter of which is almost always archived anyway.

Sure, something groundbreaking could come along, but its not all that common of an occurrence, especially since the boards really only started picking up this summer.

I'm still not sure I understand this; the only thing I have to say is maybe the Undine thread? (which still isn't dead, despite being almost a year old; therefore I don't know if it could be archived yet)

I'll have to ponder on this quite a bit. Our TS's are the only significant things for the past couple years, archive-worthy at least.

If nobody disagrees, I'll probably go ahead and add both of those TSs to the Archives at the end of the month.

Do we add the chrons?

I don't think chrons have ever been added to Best of Cythera. Although that does kind of give an idea for a "Best of Cythera Chronicles" topic, hmm...

Okay, I'm going to go ahead and add them in a separate post,; although they might be better added to my main post, I feel uncomfortable adding anything to the old archives list without more votes. (I leave the choice of their final location to Avatara's discretion.)

I've been editing stuff in to your original post anyway, I think. Except for the new stories, which were mostly in my post.

Frankly, I think they should also be added to the original post. Maybe you could make a new "Recent Additions" section or something; though I doubt that's necessary.

Well, like I said, I'd prefer more votes before I do that, so I decided to leave it up to Avatara.
