The code is a better idea, I think.
And the winner of the text only entry goes to CrazyChick for "Watch for B&B on bridge." Encountering the B&B anywhere is dangerous enough. Throwing a bridge into the recipe is an equation for disaster. - Ragashingo

I have just noticed: I think it's possible to add yourself as a friend. All you do is, when viewing a topic you have posted in, click on your name on one of your posts, then go down to where in says "Add as friend". You might be able to PM yourself too!

I think the current method of having people edit them out when the story/tavern is over is fine.

I'm inclined to agree.

I tried to add myself to my own list out of curiosity and got an error; I don't know about sending PMs to oneself.

Well of course you can PM yourself, like reminding yourself of something, i.e. e-mailing yourself? But adding myself as a friend didn't work.

That's a good idea - you can check how long it takes to recieve one.

It appears to be just about instant (which is not really surprising I think); at least, it was when I tried it.

I'm sure you've all figured this out (judging from the "last viewers to a profile" pane), but a member's profile now shows the last five topics that user has posted, along with their date. If you're bored, see if you can find a member whose last five topics were each the only topic made in a year, for the last five consecutive years. Moonshadow is the closest I've seen, but she's missing 2005.

Bonus points if you find a member whose last five posts meet the same condition.

You can block your own PMs.

Really?? Sounds cool! It's like: Q. I'm getting PMs from myself, and I don't know and trust myself. What should I do? A. (in a cheesy and highly suspect voice) Block yourself! Its the best way to solve your problem.

I discovered yesterday that when you change the display order settings at the bottom of a forum and then check the 'remember settings' box, it only applies to that forum. Very handy for automatically viewing the Chronicles in the order they were posted.

If you look at the bottom of a forum's topic list, there's a popup menu that lets you choose what order to view the topics in. Default is to order by last reply, but one of the options is to order by when posted. There's also a checkbox to 'remember settings'. That checkbox only applies to the forum you set it in, so it's possible to always have the chronicles, for example, listed in the order they were originally posted, rather than by reply. Quite handy for me, since I'm trying to catch up on a year or two's worth.

Sadly, I don't think that here have been too many chrons in the past year or two.

I don't use very many of the forum features, aside from setting the time.

Well, no promises, but you might be seeing a few more from me, soon. Writing that one for your challenge kind of got the creative juices flowing, and consequently several of my long standing ideas have become more real and solid to me over the last couple of weeks.

Just figured out how to use the forum features. When setting the order, if you want the newest topic started up the top, you have to put the order from Z-A. Took me so long to work that out!

Don't the boards start out with topics ordered from Z-A?

What's that, CrazyChick? I didn't hear you. B)

Edit: Avatara said something about paying moderator bribes here, but I got rid of it with the edit. What is a moderator bribe, anyway?

Oh, don't you see a field for "reason for edit" when you do the quick edit? (its also under "edit options" for the full edit)
