I wonder if everyone stopping by is a psychological reaction to the onset of winter. It's a relatively slow, depressing season, so people go looking for indoorsy things to do... like post on forums.

Although that doesn't explain the presence of any members 'down under'. ;)

Nope, no snow down here, just summery sun. Oh wait, this is Dunedin - we did have snow a couple of weeks ago! :P

In the spirit of.. revival.. hello there! *greets old friends warmly*

I still stop by this board from time to time to read posts, but rarely have the time to think of something intelligent to post myself. It's nice to see that there's still some life in the Cythera boards, wish I could contribute more actively to the team stories and all.

Ah, the Cythera web board brings back some good ol' memories! I'm gonna have to fire up classic and play through the game again one of these days.

Hehe, I remember you Blackfern :P . And the rest of you too (except you new people...). And yes Seldane, it's been three years since I posted anything major, but probably only two since my last post at all. I recall Ty had blackmailed me into participating in a TS about us getting swallowed by something-or-other. I must have passed out from the poisonous stomache acid...

[edit] Oh yeah, someone mentioned Wow topic... but it wasn't about WoW. So I just wanted to throw out there that though I generally don't pay the monthly fee, I've got chars on Uldum (with friends from home) and Boulderfist (with friends from school) and if any of you by coincidence do as well I'll be sure to poke you if and when I'm in game again.[/edit]

I still have a half finished Chronicle sitting on my computer, with a third planned. I really ought to finish those... every four months or so I'll write another hundred words and give up. It's been two years! I should just finish it....

Would be nice if the people that came back participated in the Tavern at least, just to give it that extra spark... (hint hint) :P

I'm kind of "around" until I get further word about my possible involvement in Cythera X. (I'd guess a few months... hard to say.) I don't really have the time to do TSes, though - right now the part of me that likes to have adventures in fantastic realms with a few friends is being satisfied with the pencil and paper RPG I'm running. I might respond to the odd topic here and there, but I think that if I actually posted in a TS I would be "out of retirement" and feel obligated to follow up on it. (Not create another one-off "Look at my awesome character entering the bar" post that nothing ever comes of. I wonder how many characters are technically still in the tavern because the people lost interest and forgot about them... ) I suspect that some of the others are reluctant to get involved again for the same reason. (If I were going to post something major, I'd probably do a write up on how you can turn oboloi into towns with savefile hacking. That's fun... for a while anyway. I also found a secret passage in Catamarcia that I didn't know existed - I don't know if it is "new" or not.)

As it stands, I'm still "retired" from this board and will quite likely stay that way unless there are serious positive developments involving me and Cythera X. But then I suppose in that case I'd be working on the port and not posting here so much. :P

I hear you Bryce. Entering a TS is like standing near the front of a line for a concert opening. You know there's only one way out, and you're not sure that you really feel like listening to music at the moment. Luckily, I dealt with most of my characters, killed em or had them wander far away from the tavern. I should probably look up where Theo is after that dragon incident, but I've got some other stuff to attend to. With school, I'm also working with some friends on a gaming developement group (paper and pencil, for the win, Bryce :P ), one wrote much of the Serenity rulebook... there was that movie out about a year ago, maybe some of you have heard of it.

And i was just wondering about whether or not you guys would jump in though. I mean its not like Avatara is doing anything that important lately... :P

Yes, you should. :P

Speaking of unfinished chronicles, I should someday finish or at least summarize my Downfall chronicle...

Yea so I was actually too curious about what Avatara linked me to not look at it right away... whoa, lots of old faces. Though really, I suppose I'm just another old face too. Very uncreative these days too.. *whistle*

Well, again, it's nice to see a lot of the old members dropping by.

(By the way, Moonshadow, in the TS Witch Hunt, I had your character be the one to defeat to Drake Thern—the villain from LKH-for story—because it seemed fitting given the events of LKH-for story. If you want me to take that out or are upset with that, please let me know and I'll edit it out.)

I guess I might not count as a newbie anymore. I kinda finished the game accidentally.

... I hope that was a joke, otherwise I'm way too out of the loop... ;)

MS!

DJ: yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Heh, it's one of those things I'm totally unsure of how many other people have seen it. Napolean Dynamite is in that category as well. Some circles have it, and some just don't. My favorite thing about the Serenity rulebook is how much they had to cripple River's stats. Then again, we joke around about how she could be the only character ever seen in a book with the usable ability "Succeed." B)

MS! How's life? If I ever had your SN on some form of instant messenger, I haven't seen you on in years...

And what is Ty doing lately? Speaking of which, he's avoided my AIM pesterings as well!

Anyway, too many posts, something like 15 updated today. I'm going to sleep instead.
