He posted a really good 7-part chronicle series, and when he posted his posts were for the most part helpful and well-thought out.

Unfortunately I believe he is no longer among us.

Actually, Heidel had all of his karma before he made his 20th post. That's quite a ratio.

forge, I especially like this one:

I don't think that someone's karma ratio is necessarily a fair measure. Lots of small good posts add up to a few large good posts over time. Also, some people (Gwydion) have hung around other boards that aren't quite as generous with karma. In addition, if someone reaches 15 karma, their ratio can go nowhere but down.

I've been about since before karma existed on these forums, but there were post counts then. Karma is a concept on these forums that has absolutely no meaning; while I may have +3 karma, I doubt that many people on these forums still respect me. One certain member (Washer) has received a karma point for telling a joke that a moderator, whose identity escapes me, liked.

It's not as if the Karma Ratios are some big deal, I was just presenting them FYI. Slayer is right.
It's simply just an interesting nonspam particle.

I agree with Slayer. The karma ratios aren't completely accurate, anyways. As Avatara said, Heidel received karma for his chronicles, so of course that wouldn't change the post count. And then in my case, I had karma transferred over to this account, so my ratio was kind of off.

And, as we've always said, karma's not really that important. :P I'm not blaming you, though, Bryce.

I won't reiterate the entire argument I made as Obsidian on the EVN board, but Karma *could* be important, at least moderetly, if it were more free-flowing on other boards.

Maybe karma could come to mean something in the future (a completely whacked idea would be people with 10+ karma get an infentesimal discount off of an ASW product) but then it would also have to be more regulated to prevent cheating.

And Gwydion spent half his time on the boards before karma existed, those posts weren't touched when karma was being given out.

Yep... For anyone who stays rooted here and here alone, this board is being unofficially stereotyped as "the board with lots of karma." Posted Image Such a tight little group has closer connections between members, I suppose, and very active moderators. I wish the EV board was known for members with high karma... <falls asleep>.

Good point. In fact, my last +Karma was, according to EVula, really for a huge composition of little good things, not just a single, big good thing. Excuse my vagueness; I'm still asleep...
