The computers at my school couldn't choke down osx86. Most of them are P3 boxes with 256 megs of RAM.
You put what in my Power Mac?

Is x86 more demanding than the real thing? You can run Panther on a 333Mhz with 64 Megs of RAM

Especially when he realizes that there's still one computer standing the next time we get hit with a virus :P.

... but do you really want to run Panther with 64 megs of RAM?

XP on 128 Megs runs like dogs###. Panther on 128 Megs runs well. XP on 64 Megs runs slower than GEOS 2.0 on a Commodore. So Mac OS X would actually run quite well compared to XP.

My friend was able to run XP at a decent speed on a K6/466 with 64 megs of RAM. Then again, he had a RAM optimizer...

Tiger would probably just die with 64MB. Especially with spotlight enabled.

The key to xp is all the extra applications it has open. If you turn all those off and run it on the barebones you can probably skate at 128mb.

I hated my machine on 256, then i got an extra 512 and a graphics card... Now I'm relatively happy with it.

Of course. I think it needs about ~256 to go smoothly, but I hear it does okay with 128.

And slash SuSE 9.3. SuSE 10 is out now.

God does Novell update fast...

As well, iTunes 6 has been released.

It works... I suppose. Wait a minute. It gets stronger as you heat it, right? Why not bring it to absolute zero and forge it at that temperature?
