Ambrosia Software Web Board: I actually played Ares today - Ambrosia Software Web Board

I have three computers: an eMac G4, a ThinkPad 600E, and a Centris 650. Ares only works on one of these. Today, all three were set up. Somehow though, one of my brothers ended up on the eMac and another on the ThinkPad. Being bored, I went over the the Centris and booted it up. I was thinking I would play some of the classic Marathon 1, but then I remembered I had Ares on it. Needless to say, I played a good, fun hour in Ares. I played levels 19 and 20 again, which meant beating it. There's always one thing that disappoints me on the last level though. Why do they only give me a modified Heavy Crusior? It's a great ship and all (especially modified), but why not modify a Heavy Destroyer? That would be awesome.

Great game though.

I love that mission....... a mod heavy cruiser is the best in my opinion. A mod Heavy Destroyer would be too strong, you'd be able to actually fight the Gate Ship 1 v 1.

haha, I was soooooo frustrated the first time I played.... shooting those asteroids at the gate ship and barely missing.... or dying after only 2.....

First few times I played that I smashed into the asteroids... ahh good times...

A mod Heavy Destroyer would still kick ass.

First time I played I thought I had to take the gateship down with my weapons, and I just used the asteroids as cover.

A modified HVD wouldn't stand a chance: Not nearly fast or agile enough to dodge the weapons on the Gateship or properly maneuver an asteroid.
