It was cool. He gave a good speech about issues, and didn't talk about Vietnam for once.

I watched a speech by Howard Dean last fall myself, from about five feet away. I'm afraid I was unimpressed.

I've stood within a good ten feet from a rally surrounding a Kerry speech and was very unimpressed. The guy must've talked for thirty miniutes and didn't say anything at all. The guy is a good speaker on television, I'm not too sure about in person.

I like how the candidates come around Ohio many times over again and dont say anything new, kinda just reiterations on why the other guy sucks and why they are so great. I wish there were more than just two parties. That would make the whole system work much better. I would actually like to see 5 parties. The balance split on each, and each would be not much stronger than the others. That way we would get a true representation of the public. Now it seems too much like its this or that, no middle ground.

Of course, this is wishful thinking. Neither party would, in its right mind, split to be two seperate parties. It would just open the door for the party to fall flat on its ass.

Probably one more time we should take a line from the French (two rounds of voting, and the top two from the first round are eligible for the second).

In the speech, Kerry didn't attack Bush in any "bad" way. He did criticize policy, but I think that is acceptable. He spent the most time on health care. He also talked about education, jobs, national security, the environment, energy, stem cell research, and the war on terror. The speech was about 35 minutes.

My aunt dated the Bush himself at Harvard Business School. They are still friends. I am so ashamed.

I believe that every psychoanalyst in California suddenly sat bolt upright when you said that. :P

This would be a good time for an ATT mod to "test out" that "topic renaming" feature. *wink wink* :P

Of course, if I were such a mod, I'd rename it "Avatara is a houseplant!" or some other clever thing like that. Alas, I've not been provided with a modship on this fine webboard so my characterization of Av as a leafy organism in a pot will have to wait. :P
