Yeh well I saved up the$10000 and bought the house but just what does it do? So far it looks to me like I just blew A whole friggan load of money

There isn't really anything else to spend that much money on, though. If you've managed to accumulate that much money, I'm willing to bet that you found a way to do it fairly quickly, so it's not that much lost. Just be happy with the knowledge that you officially own real estate in Cythera. I tried to spruce my house up a little bit, by fetching the puddles and getting a few decorations and chairs to stick.
