Unfortunately, it seems the only way to disable sig images is to disable all UBB code in sigs - meaning links. If sig images become an issue, that will be done. So, likely, some kind of guideline governing sig images will be implemented, (ie, no 400x400 images, something GD size or smaller) with violators subject to a whole new variety of punishments at the moderators' disposal.

I am prevailing in my quest to make sig images. This is why I like PHPBB much better. You can disable sig images.

Although 376X79 seems like a really weird guideline to use...
