The only guess I have is Tavaras lab underneath abydos. Theres a bunch of pointless secret passages and a demon and a saphire book.
Also theres a place under cademia where you can find a dead alchemist lab with some elements, a lyre, and a couple of golems.

The secret lab is by the mushroom room in Cademia. It's behind a secret door.
