I tend to agree with you. Flashy animated graphics might be nice, but html is much faster and oftentimes more useful for some people (in that stuff is simpler to find). After a while you tend grit your teeth waiting for the animations to end so you can see the real content on the site and move on. Loading times also can be obnoxious.

Only if your on a pitiful 56k, and if you are why the hell didn't the designer add in a html site. If he hasn't added in a html site you shouldn't got to it because the guy obviously does not understand web development.
I personally take the side of Flash seeing how it is my second favorite program, it can allow your website so much more, with HTML you have to think about browser capatiablity and syntax errors, furthermore it is so basic. You might end up having to learn several different languages just to do what you can with Flash and actionscript. Flash also does not differ from browser to browser, what you make is what you get.
If you have to wait for animations that is the animators fault and should be shot. I make my animations fast and to the point. There is no reason to wait around for content. As for easier to find, I do agree there. Annoying background music can be turned off. Flash can sometimes take less time to load seeing how graphic enhanced sites load graphics very slowly.

The problem with flash is that so many people seem to think its so spiffy they go overboard and do make their animations long and ugly; that's why I'm against flash - because most people can't use it concisely. You have to sit for an hour watching an animation because the webmaster wanted to show of their flash skills while you're trying to access a single page of information.
When animations are short, flash is okay. When you spend more time watching animations than reading content, something is wrong.
