Ares Music

I was wondering how I could get a hold of the Ares Music? I love the grand majority of them, but they don't seem to be as "accessible" as music is in other games. I just want to be able to play it on my computer outside of playing Ares, that's all. =)
Places to find it, how to do it (if I have the stuff, which I likely don't...), or people I could be referred to?
Thanks very much, this is all I need. =)

All 8 of the Ares songs, in handy mp3 format. Enjoy.

I'm happy with them, but there's a problem I don't understand. The sound of the instruments in these mp3 versions is significantly different than it is in the game. "Eyes Of Fire" constantly "flutters" throughout the whole song, and I find it impossible to listen to. The Mission Briefing music has a BANG on every 8th note that really makes the song uncomfortable. If the game is made by Nathan Lamont, and the mp3's were converted by Nathan Lamont, what accounts for this difference? The quality of these is really poor, in my opinion...

Even if this is the most active forum, you're least likely to get a response here. Some (most?) of the people here probably haven't played Ares. Try Ambrosia Banter or the Ares Officer's Club.. As for the music, I'm not sure it's availible at this time.
There are a number of Ares players here. I know I played it and I know The J plays it. I also suspect SA and Avatara have played it. There could be others, but I don't know.

Yes, I found them before you posted them, from the info the previous poster gave me (never would have occurred to me to look in game add-ons for this).

Do it yourself, using WIretap (which Trah posted an icon of). Its free from Ambrosia and records any audio playing on your computer in AIFF. Start the game, let the music start, and activate WireTap. Its very handy, I used it to get a laugh track for the Azzy ARt Movie last night.

Probably because the game isn't an exact mp3 player. In the game it sounds slightly different due to the way the game plays the music, some parts are emphasized more than others (but all that stuff you mentioned is there if you listen hard enough). If you play around with your mp3 player's equalizer, you can probably hide the stuff the game does while you listen to the music.

And as for Ares Players - as a matter of fact, yes, I played Ares a long time ago, before even the Ambrosia release. I also had an impeccable online record in the pre-Hera days. Still, I haven't played for a long, long time.

1. The game to be based on win/loss, NOT kills.
The few games of Ares that I do find on GameRanger always end up being against kill wh0res that never build anything but Heavy Destroyers. I win every game, but the kills ratio is crap because I actually want to play strategically and use carriers along with everything else.
2. For the races to actually be balanced. Nothing I'd love to see more than a Gaitori VS Audemedon battle where either side has an equal chance of winning.
Is there an add-on that actually has balanced races? If not, it's something I might consider doing, even though nobody plays the game anymore...I'm specifically looking at the ship costs, and not the weapons. All the ships could be left just as they are, but change the costs of the ships so that they reflect what that ship actually is. Human VS Cantharan and mirror matches just get really boring after a while.

If I had 2 wishes for the game (which really shouldn't be wishes), I'd want...
Here are my two wishes:
1. Carbon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Being able to run it under Classic in Panther

After reading this, I feel thankful that I haven't touched system 10 since I reinstalled everything on my computer. It doesn't have Panther yet, so I'll actually be able to run the game and use WireTap this way...(for what it's worth, I hate system 10. I know 9 will be extinct eventually, I know how to use 10, but I still, and always will, hate it. It looks too damn corny for starters...).
