What's so bad about cheerleaders? Are we all shallow enough to believe that real cheerleaders are just like in Bring it On? I'm seriously considering being one next year....Is there a reason why everyone hates them so much. Sure some of them aren't nice, but it's like that in every sport/club/activity you participate in. Am I right...(well duh) but...help me out here.

It stands to reason that anyone who would willingly participate in such an activity must be a total moron.

And why would you do cheerleading and not marching band? It is incredibly hypocritical of you.

Precisly what I'm wondering.

And besides, you aren't a cheerleading type, µ. Have you seen what they wear???

I agree dude3 and The J. Band is what Moonunit is, doing otherwise is insanity. But because I hold her in high regard and consider her a friend, I will support her 100% in whatever she chooses to do.

I have nothing against cheerleaders. But then, the official policy at our school in Australia was "The girls may form a cheerleading squad as soon as the guys form a cheerleading squad".

There seems something wrong with that statement...

And cheerleaders usually do odd things that make them look stupid at high schools, stuff that a lot of people don't care about. Then again, there are people that find cheerleaders attractive - though that's usually when dealing with professional cheerleaders.

And not doing marching band but doing cheerleading is an odd path to choose.

When I came to USA as an exchange student I look forward to watching the cheerleaders, my picture of cheerleaders was they where hot had nice bodies, but then I came and saw they where all ugly, so µ if you are ugly go ahead and join the cheerleaders.

Cheerleaders generally tend to be annoying because they tend to be cheery, have "school spirit", and view cheering as some sort of sport (which it really isn't). That said, I have known quite a few cheerleaders who are pretty good people.

Cheerleaders are horribly stereotyped. However, many of them do fit the stereotype.
