Police are searching for a man who has posed as a 13-year-old girl to trick some local families into letting him stay with them.
The 27-year-old man is also wanted for the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old boy.
The man, who calls himself LaLani, reportedly has been using a series of aliases for the past several months. He has been living with different families at The Ponds at the Villages of Taylor and The Courts at the Villages of Taylor for several months, police told the The News-Herald.
The man reportedly told families he was of Polynesian and Russian descent and was a rising tennis star. He reportedly has played as a guest on the court at the Fairlane Club in Dearborn and was thought by some who had seen him play as the next Serena Williams on the tennis court, according to the paper.
"He apparently was convincing to many people," Taylor police Detective Joel Kaczor told the paper.
Back in September, LaLani tried to enroll at Truman High School, but was unsuccessful, Kaczor said.
The man was taken for a psychological evaluation, released and not arrested at that time, the detective said.
The man also lived in Detroit and Rochester, as well as California and Oregon and possibly other states, police told the paper.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office is reviewing the case, but no warrant has reportedly been issued yet.
"LaLani" is described as black, about 6 feet 1 inch tall with wide shoulders and a muscular build.
