Does anyone feel like the fast food industry may be taking over our lives? I mean, come on, you're hungry, on your way to work, what do you do? Go to McDonald's for a #3 combo meal. I think we should boycott fast food.

#3? Sheesh, that's tiny.

Normally when I hit McDonald's (very rarely, I've eaten there perhaps four or five times in the past year) it's something a bit more...substantial. I personally feel that so long as you work it off via exercise or just throughout your day (let's say you work construction for a living) then you can just eat whenever you feel like without any sort of guilt regarding the nutrition.

Although I do prefer food which tastes better, IE Fuddruckers or Five Guys. The people at Fuddruckers are normally nice enough to put an extra beef patty on my one-pound burger when I'm feeling really hungry.

Well, I seriously think that it's going to take over our whole existance....and I don't even know what the #3 is, I just typed 3 because that was the same number as the # sign.

#3 is a quarter pounder with cheese. And you say McDonalds is taking over our lives...PAH! Posted Image

I do think that fast food (McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King, etc.) is becoming a bit too prevalent. On the other hand, McDonalds had it's first monetary loss in...forever last year. Massively declining sales overseas have been forcing the closure of literally hundreds of stores. Add in that the American way of life (Levi's, McDonalds, rock music) has been taking a huge hit recently and you're probably going to be seeing a much larger decrease in McDonalds sales soon enough. Which is of course why they and the other fast food chains are buying out the "fast fresh" places like Baja Fresh.

I've never heard of the places you named..baja fresh etc. The only fast food places I've heard of besides Wendy's, Burger King, etc. is in 'n' out burger or Weinershnitzel.

You need to travel more. There's also White Castle, Jack In The Box, Checkers... There's a VERY large number of fast food burger places out there. Then you get places like Subway, KFC, Taco Bell...

Fast food...I like some of those stores, and I hate others.

You'll never see me at a Burger King or a Subway. *shudder*

But I still doubt its taking over everyone's lives, seems on a decline really.

Hehe. I never even heard of most of these companies, and I doubt they exist over here.
Yay for living overseas!

Certainly agree on the Burger King and Subway. My feelings on most fast food places is that by waiting an extra couple minutes somewhere else you can get vastly superior food. Given that there are four places near me about the same distance away as a Subway which have subs and I just don't go there.

As for the decline part, see one of my above posts. Fast food business has been taking a loss and having to regroup recently.

Hell, I just know most of them because I've been to the majority of the states in the U.S. There aren't any Jack In The Boxes, In N' Outs, or White Castles around here.

If I'm in the mood for a burger (and I'm, for some reason, out of propane for my grill) I'll go to Carls Jr and get one of their $3 Six Dollar Hamburgers. Basically its as good (and sometimes better) than the burgers you can get at the upscale Fuddruckers or Red Robin. Its made to compete directly against those companies's burgers, just it costs $3 less. Everything else from any national chain is terrible and I very seldom darken their doorways.

I'm going to have to agree. However, I don't count Red Robin as fast food.

****, forogt about Red Robin. I've seen them but I only recently actually went to one. Hell, I wouldn't call Fuddruckers fast food and I'd BARELY call Five Guys fast food. Oh man, I need some Five Guys... (oh man, that sounds SO WRONG!)

I hope your not saying she robbed my trousers of more than their denim, which makes them up. I think that perhaps µ needs to get less personal in her trouser approaches.

If you have been robbed of your trouser denim, than are, to say, trouserless. O my. Hopefully they were not denim, in which, you would be trouserful.

That was, perhaps, her intent all along. To make you trouserless. Posted Image
