I saw Ares in a demo CD and when I opened it, everything is exactly the same only it says it's by Changling and shows a picture of a smiling moon instead of the Ambrosia logo. Who started Ares? Ambrosia or Changling?

Changeling did indeed start Ares. They were going broke and Ambrosia saw some promise in the game. A few of us here got the game when it was still under the Changeling label (myself and SA for sure).

I had the Changeling demo from a MacAddict CD, and I wanted to get the full version, but I didn't know where to get it, and I never got it. Then Ambrosia released it, and I got it from them.

I saw the Ares demo on a MacAddict CD, crashed my computer, and didn't want it until Ambrosia acquired it Posted Image

If Changling made it first, then isn't it called plagarism(sp?) for Ambrosia to use it?

Neither Changeling nor Ambrosia made it. Nathan Lamont made it, and at first tried to sell it with Changeling. It didn't work out so well, so he is now selling it with Ambrosia.

Ah yes, I used to have the full Changeling version of Ares. Changeling has the worst customer service i've ever seen, I wasn't until ten months after I ordered it that it actually arrived.

Note that in the Ares Credits, Ambrosia is listed for "CPR."

I have a quite a few of Changeling's games: Pegleg and Space Madness. They really made excellent games, and they had a computer "catalog" with every one of their games: I remember advertisements for Ares in them. Also, Changeling was at a NY (or was it a California one...) Macworld Expo, next to Ambrosia. I remember playing Ares at Changeling's booth.

Oh, so that's who made Pegleg. I've always liked that game, and its sequal.
