Will Ares ever be ported to Windows or Linux?
Why can't I play WITH people over the internet, rather than against. I love fighting comps in Starcraft

Do you know this for sure? I really like the game and I want to play it without buying a mac.... my PC isn't very good at emulating
They made Barrack for Linux, so I hope Ares come soon.

As far as I am aware, Ambrosia has no plans to port Ares to another platform; their line is "We stick with what we do best: The Mac". Barrack, I believe, was a one-off.
And ganging up on a computer in internet play... An interesting idea, actually. It may be possible with the features offered by Hera... And if it isn't, maybe it should be.

Even better, teaming up against another team. Of course the only non lagged option, while still good, is an unlikely 4 people on a LAN connected to 4 people on a LAN. Then again, we have AirPosrt!!

With HERA, it is possible for there to be 4 players in a game. Unfortunately, only 2 of them can be Human-controlled, and due to sync problems, it is recommended to only have 2 or 3.
