Anyway.. they've confirmed that Keanu Reeves will be playing Spike. Holy crap? But no one has been confirmed for Julia, Ed, Faye, or Jet. Any ideas? Who would you like to see playing them?
And really.. even if you haven't seen the show.. just look up pictures of the characters and see who you could see playing them.. I'm having a very difficult time picturing them... but...
Julia: Liv Tyler would be awesome
Jet: Ron Perlman
Faye: Eva Green
*shrug*
I'm way too prematurely excited about this. I hope I'm not the only one

Well no, that's not necessarily true.
Anime fans are annoying though.
And half of my friends from high school were anime fans so I know what I'm talking about!

But only the uber ones. I only like Cowboy Bebop. I have yet to see another anime that holds up. The only exception might be found in a movie. (i.e Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away.. that sort of thing)

Heh, I've found that the good anime series tend to be the ones around 26 episodes in length, while those that are syndicated (DBZ, Naruto, Bleach) tend to crap out.
I'd recomend watching Outlaw Star, it's maybe not as deep as Bebop, but sure kicks ass. Oh yeah, you might like Trigun, and slap yourself if you haven't seen FLCL.

clearly you've never watched evangelion then. also FLCL is pretty nifty.
i wouldn't consider myself an anime fan, but those two are amazing.

FLCL is a very very short series about robots from outer space being sent to earth via a kid's brain, and an alien woman who battles them with a bass guitar.
it's awesome.
i still think evangelion is the greatest anime ever made though.

Evangelion is pretty awesome, but there's no definite end to the series... There have been so many alternate timelines and stuff, that it's pretty hard to say what happened to anything.

Ones that run for 13 (one season) also tend to do well too. Agree on the 39, 52, and beyond, they always tend to drag out and lose momentum.

I loathe and despise NGE. Miyazaki (and Studio Ghibli in general) does make good movies.

Yeah, I haven't been too impressed with many live-action movies based off of anime, so I don't really have a high expectation for this one.

A lot of the ones Cartoon Network (and even the Sci-Fi channel and other popular TV stations) pick up and dub are the mainstream shows. There is a large percentage of shows that are novel and enjoyable, but that don't get picked up by the media, which is both understandable and unfortunate. In other words, there probably is something out there, you just haven't found it yet.
