I keep my cell phone on vibrate all the time. I've never used a ringtone on it, ever. Except when I first got it I listened to all of them to make sure there wasn't one that was awesome.

So do you guys agree that vibrate is the way to go?

I only make outbound calls with my cell phone; nobody ever calls me.

Get a Joe Satriani ringtone. You'll never use vibrate by itself again.

I strongly agree. Ringtones are for chumps and old people. Fortunately I set my phone's alarm clock frequently, which allows me to take advantage of the "samba" ringer.

Yep, I'm pretty much vibrate-only. I'd use normal ring, but I'd forget to turn it off when I went to class and that could be awkward.

I don't typically have either of my cell phones on my person, so I use ringtones almost exclusively. My local number phone is set to use the "Bell 3" ringtone that came with the phone. My Albuquerque number phone uses the included "Ring 3" ringtone that came with that phone. Both tones are very different, despite being identified with the number 3.

I have never not used vibrate. It's nice when the vibration itself is silent. No one suspects a thing.

I don't even have a cell phone. I will need one now with marching band starting and I will most likely use both conditionally. If I'm in class it will be off at all times. If I'm walking around it depends on what I was just doing. If I'm in at private lessons or some form of public activity it will be on vibrate unless it's in a certain pocket with certain few items. I was at a bonfire at my section leaders house that she threw for the section. I borrowed my father's cell phone and missed three calls from him in 30 minutes because I couldn't hear it ringing, and couldn't feel it vibrating in my side pocket. It I'm just walking around and I don't have the kind of pants that have the pocket on the side, and have it in the cell phone pocket on my backback, or my regular pocket, then I will probably have the ringtone audible, but barely.

I use vibrate then ring, so if I'm in class or such I can usually silence it before anyone else knows but if I don't feel it for some reason I still don't miss a call. It's really the best of both worlds. I'm with you on ringtones though, I use a generic ring for when it does go off.

When I drive I play my music loud so I put my phone on vibrate then put it in my crotch so that I will notice someones calling me. No joke.

When I drive I play my music loud and keep my phone in my door so that I don't know that someone's calling me. Nobody needs to talk to me so urgently that they can't wait until I'm stopped.

My phone hasn't been on anything but vibrate for over six months.

Good for class... Not that I text in class, just that I know whether I'm being texted or called.
And the winner of the text only entry goes to CrazyChick for "Watch for B&B on bridge." Encountering the B&B anywhere is dangerous enough. Throwing a bridge into the recipe is an equation for disaster. - Ragashingo

I originally thought this topic was going to be about Vec and how she multiplied herself and made a happy family. Disappointing! :P

I just disappeared for a while. They needed me in Covert Ops for a top secret diplomatic mission, so I didn't really have a lot of spare time. But now I'm back, in case you hadn't worked it out yet. :P
