So, I have a question for all y'all. Think back to when you were about 5. What did you want to do "when you grew up"? What made you want to be that firefighter/cowboy/Barney? How about now? What do you want to do and/or what are you working towards doing for the rest of your life? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Now I'm considering growing up to be someone who walks in front of cars and sues the drivers. I will be in a small apartment and live on Pop-Tarts and coke. I will never have to think about my injures, because I will be playing video games. This simple life will let me save my money. Then I'll have my brain put in a jar and connected to an Xbox 360 and a computer. I will play Halo3 and talk with you guys on these boards (assuming you do the same as me) for eternity.

At the tender age of five I wanted to either work on airplanes or be an astronaut. Nowadays I'm studying aerospace engineering, which fits in with that nicely. Ten years from now? I'll probably be working for one of the big aerospace companies around here, I'd like to have traveled a bit more by then, and maybe I'll even be married and have a child or two.

When I was five I wanted to be a lawyer. Now I'm planning on being a lawyer. In 10 years, I hope to be a lawyer.

Now? I want to either work for the State Department, become an investment banker, or go to law school.
In 10 years I hope to be to be doing one of those 3 things. Worst-case scenario I'll fall back on Apple Retail and become a Genius or store manager.

Now I'm really not sure where I'm going with myself but for the time being I'm cool with that. Possibly commercial driving.
In ten years, I will be....somewhere. As long as I'm alive and able to feed myself, I'll consider it a success.

It sounds like most of you are actually working towards areas that you were first interested in. That is so cool, homies.
When I was 5, I vividly remember wanting to be a veterinarian. It's always something that has been in the back of my mind since then, however I decided some of the responsibilities that come with the vocation (namely euthanasias) are things I can't do. These days my sights are set on helping those of the genus homo and working towards bachelors degrees in Anthropology and International Affairs.
In 10 years I will hopefully hold my masters degree (maybe PhD...I haven't decided) in International Relations and be doing some diplomacy and humanitarianism work with the United Nations (especially with Refugees), UNICEF, or something similar. Maybe an embassy job, but a seat in a UN committee would be amazing. Also by then I will be married, possibly have popped out a few kids.
We'll see.

At the moment, I am packing all my gear up to move to the Czech Republic. No firm plan yet on what we are going to do there for work, but we're not worried about that.
In 10 years time, to be alive would be a start.

When I was 5, I wanted to be a doctor. Like, a medical doctor, and I don't know why.
Currently I'm studying Mechanical Engineering. I want to get my PhD though, so people will address me as doctor. I guess it all works out.

I'm in college now and I don't really have any idea what I want to dedicate my life to.

Yeah. Ok. Stop being an attention whore. If people are ignoring your post, it probably means it sucks, so posting it again and again isn't going to make people like it anymore. It will make them like it less.

When I was 5 I very very very much wanted to be an eye doctor. Events in my family's history led to this great revelation.
I still want to go into medicine (the field's never changed, just the subject matter.) So now I want to be a nurse anesthesiologist specializing in pediatrics. (Yay for grad school!)
In 10 years, I see myself with about two kids, maybe one on the way, a part-time nursing job, and married to some lucky guy who likes to dance.
