That's actually what it's made of, whether that's where they got the name or not is less clear.

Spam has probably been around since the late 1800's, Hormel's packed ham was a pretty early product. I'm pretty sure Mr. Hormel is long dead.

Please don't blow up the back fence in trying to create one.

Spam is absolutely foul. If you're ever bored make yourself a spam burger, makes a McDonalds corkboard burger taste like Aberdeen Angus.

Never had either. I had a kangaroo burger once, tasted like beef...

Kangaroo! Oh no..

OH GOD.

I just had a revelation. In Winnie the Poo, Kanga is the mom, and Roo is the son. I never put two and two together until now. Granted, I never had a reason to, but sitll. Wow!

Eeyore was always my favourite, Tigga was always a close second however.

Oh yes. But Pooh was always my very very favorite. ESPECIALLY Classic Pooh. That was my thing.

Does anyone have any idea what sex Rabbit was? I could never tell.

I always thought Rabbit was a he, but what do I know?

Junius Matthews (original voice of Rabbit) was a guy, but I must admit that I've occasionally questioned Rabbit's sex as well.

Everytime someone says Rabbit is a boy, I swear that "he's" and old woman. Whenever someone says "he's" an old woman, I swear "he's" a man. It's very frustrating. I was too young to make note of any pronouns used in place.

Well the Disney Rabbit has definitely got to be an old woman regardless of the sex of the person voicing 'him.' But I always thought he was a he in the stories.

But the series came from the books directly. At least the original did.

I think it has more to do with the voice of the disney rabbit vs. the voice I heard when reading the books, or listening to my dad read them.

Ah, I see. That would make sense, wouldn't it.

Those were such wonderful stories. I forgot how great A.A Milne was.

I'm kinda scared to reread them after a recent episode invovling me reading Babar to a bunch of pre-school kids. I got about half-way through the book when I realised what an incredibly racist, sexist, neo-colonialist story it was. So know I approach all children's books with some hestitation that I'll realise they're not as good as I remember them being.
