Well when we had about 2 weeks left, a lot of the seniors would skip school. Not everyday but every other day I think. I was one of them because we all knew that the teachers had nothing to give us and that they already gave us our study guides and stuff. It also helps that we got out a week earlier than the rest of the high school so that kind of messed with the teachers.

Evidently since the 2003-2004 school year all the seniors in the city who manage to maintain perfect attendance records throughout their senior year were entered into a drawing to get a free car. As there are usually only 30 or so folks in the city who pull that off, the odds of winning are pretty good. I only mention the year because I pulled off the feat in my senior year during the 02-03 school year and didn't get s###. In fact, I only missed some five days of school from 6th through 12th grade and have only missed a single class session in my four years of college. Where the hell is my free car? Hell, I'd settle for $20 and a certificate.

Thus concludes Pufer's complaint of the day.

Also, now would probably be an awkward time to mention that my mom plays flute...

Yeah, she was pretty good playing my flute last night...

I kinda' like oboes. I'm not too hot on the saxophone though (my apologies to you sax people).
Who the hell are you? :P

Anyway, all the female flautists I've encountered over the years out here have been smoking hot. We would always talk about this in the viola section while the other sections practiced back in high school and I'm kinda' curious as to whether this is true in other regions of the universe as well.

-Pufer

Strange. With the other flutists I know, their flute-playing ability is inversely proportional to their hotness (also, none of them are decent).

I'd like to take up flute lessons again just to have an excuse to get closer to a certain girl. That and I really truly love the flute. BEST INSTARMANT EVAR.

Girl trumps the flute. Sell one of your kidneys, impress her with money. It'll be easier than learning a new instrument at least.

I don't suppose you're aware of the almost universally known stereotype that any boy who plays flute is automatically gay?

Unless you're this guy.

Which from previous posts, I assume you are not. Stick to something manly.. like percussion. That's easy and mindless!

Here in the northeast we generally stick that stereotype on the trumpets, because face it, they blow harder than we do.

Yes, but luckily their instruments don't resemble a phallus. Therefore making them less gay.

  • The innuendo in my post was lost on you

  • See points 1-3.
Anyway, I also play the fife.

Oh, I think not.

Takes a while to get to the flute part. However, the rest of the song is certainly worth listening to. And if you decide to listen. You must listen to the song in its entirety and watch at the same time. It's as entertaining to watch as to hear.

I think he might be the third guy on the Evolution chart.

We should get all the band/strings/choir kids from the boards together. How awesome would that be?

That would be cool. Awkward and frustrating, but cool.

I'm afraid I agree wholly with Pufer on this one. (And sorry sax people...tenor and bari are ok...)

Shall I mention that I am indeed a flautist? :P

True to an extent where I am. Although to a man…er…woman, they are easily one of the more annoying sections of the band, especially when I get dumped in sectionals with them. At least this was my observation 2 years ago, before I got the hell out of school music.

True...I even got annoyed at my own section. Primarily in marching band because piccolos are as annoying as hell.
Can you imagine if I was deranged?

My life has been crushed! Trampled! Ruined! I guess I'll have to go back to piano.

But thanks :P
