Actually, ankh, it's Darloks, not Darleks.

Back to the actual topic.

Ankh, if these topics are locked, and you feel wrongly, why not send a post to a moderator of the board (conveniently SA) and say, "Mr. Moderator, I would like to say this topic should not be locked because of such and such," rather than starting a new topic to whine about it?

And please, don't get angry at Jamin for his opinion. We all have opinions. Deal with it.

No, I came out of the EVN boards... we've been through this.

It's not the blocking of barthing that has annoyed me, its the flippin micromanagement! It's the way we now have a topic which is about the fact that the majority of our topics are locked.
You can only have a discussion on this board for about 3 days tops, because then it gets locked for no reason.

You don't think the fact that the topic has degenerated into a mass of pointless drivel is a reason?

First off, I must say that while I haven't viewed this board for a while, there are still some things I must take exception to, during my brief visit here. In defense of moderation and the like.
Let's get something straight first, Ankhwatcher-yes, I could probably be described as a hypocrite, here. However, without that shocking piece of evidence, I know you'll go back to that particular thing several times in the future, in a pitiful attempt to discount everything I say.

Anything that'll knock the perpetual chip off your shoulder is worth a try.

This is nothing new; why do you feel the need to put this at the top of your post? It would be more appropriate to affix this to your signature.

Quote

The entire point of this topic is for me to take out some of the pent up anger that i have gathered during the day.
(Rant about Jamin)

In your hypocrisy, by posting a topic in the board that arrogantly fulfills your selfish desire to flame everyone with impunity, you're effectively doing the same thing you describe here.

Quote

Avatara, Zotrium and Hamster you have taken up the worst qualities of TAC because of your constant tirading against him.

Personally, I doubt that anything could be considered a tirade against Apple Core, from what I've seen of the other people in general-if not necessarily on this board. My post is a tirade, yes. Your post is a tirade, yes. But nothing from any of the three people above would qualify, I'm sure.
Like I said, I haven't been able to observe the activities of this forum too much as of late, so if you think you can prove me wrong, feel free to send me a private message.

Quote

The people who say you are "spamming" would never suggest such a thing.

They're only hypocrites if they've advertised it in the past-or, more generally, a certain thing with great frequency. Of course, this hasn't happened, but you brought up this minor detail into a chasm of error simply to make another attack on the moderation. It's one thing when he says "You know, it might be a good idea to go on IRC" after ten people post in one topic constantly for a period of two minutes. Another when he constantly makes references to the channel and advertises it in every fifth post he makes.

Quote

Sundered Angel and Laguna... Go Away. Your not contributing in anyway to this board and are instead constricting it like a python to the kneck.

And you *are*? Whooo, one completely unoriginal word game! Ankhwatcher has done something great!
You bash just to bash-not because you have any legitimate reason, but because you're a Rebel Without A Clue™. The moderators have been doing a fine job. Unfortunately, the spam generators on this board are working full-time.
And "neck", not "kneck".

This is a brief look at something, real quick-I just want to comment that I'm §torm, and if Apple Core thought he could actually do that-drag me over here, much less get me to spam about something that undoubtably nobody else on the forum cares about-he was sorely mistaken.

This is part of the reason why people go on these so-called "tirades", Ankh-and with justification. It gets annoying hearing about his constant IRC stuff with basic instructions-and when it's just a truckload of garbage about attacking #ev3, that's *plenty* of justification, I'd say. If a guy named "mr.l33tn00b" came on Ares Trash Talk and spammed ten thousand posts a day, wouldn't you feel outraged? No, you probably wouldn't....because that already happens, in the form of ATT regulars.

If it wasn't for moderation, this place would've fallen apart and died a long time ago.

No, your missing the point. Jamin came in and said (massively paraphrasing here [I don't know why i'm even putting it in inverted commas]) "This place used to be really entertaining! But now you've all got boring so Dance! Monkey! Dance!"
It was that attitude that irritated me greatly.

You don't quite understand how i define a tirade. This is not a tirade, this is more of complaint. By tirade i meant the hounding of TAC with many complaints, consistently over a long period of time.
When i first started posting on this board, TAC seemed to be... well, an bastard. Which was probably because he was rightly pissed off at me for my light hearted attempts to make fun of Mac users on the EVN boards {which he frequented}.
Avatara came across as someone who understood that my actions were in jest and not meant to offend. He liked to quietly undermine TAC.
But over time TAC and I learned to get along, each having our own oddities.
But Avatara was still hounding TAC, like a drunk friend who is desperate to pick a fight before he sobers up.
He's kept it up for what... six months now? Maybe more?
And then, Hamster and Zortrium arrived (I'm not sure in what order) and due to their peak net use times being the same as Avatara's talked with him, sometimes in 1v1 chats that would extend a post by a page or two [that's my rather small pages, mind. Avatara has mega pages and will point out any failure to recognise this.]
And lo and behold! soon Hamster and Zortrium were making little digs at TAC at every turn!
Frankly, its bullying; the moderators are too busy locking topics for no reason and have too much respect for the older members to do anything about it.

Look, I often post with TAC, when only the two of us are online. And if we have created a string of posts that may be nearly a page long. In the past he has suggested the use of IRC, so as not make a mess of the boards.
Avatara and Zortrium/Hamster have made much longer strings of posts, no more on topic than anything TAC has posted. They have never suggest IRC or anthing else.
It seem hypocritical that they then class him a "spammer".

The next time you find something on this webboard that can't be explained using that reasoning, send me a PM. I'd be interested to see how it's pulled off.

I really don't understand your problems with moderation. ATT has a much higher spam tolerance than most other ASW boards, and the mods enforce that (rather lenient) limit. You seem to be saying that ATT is intended to be a spam board, and that the mods should therefore let it go unhindered. If this is the desired state, might I suggest these forums?

More in general, here are some surefire ways to solve your problems with this board:

1) Cope.
2) Leave, make your own board, gather up a community for it and prohibit moderation.
3) Realize that ATT is just a webboard and whatever problems it has don't merit this kind of frustration.

Edit: You know when you're like 15, and you just argue and argue and argue with everything everyone says? And you always win because you're always right? Yeah. That's cool.

Only, you grow out of it, and then when something's annoying you sit back. Because it's other people doing it, and you're no more important than them, and it's not annoying to them. That's just as cool.
