It has come to my attention that several members of the board are unfamiliar with their Miranda Rights. This topic is intended to rectify this problem:

You have the right to remain silent.
• This means you don't have to post in every single active topic.
• This means you don't have to post where you don't have anything useful to say.
• This means you don't have to make posts which would incriminate you.
• This also means you don't have to make posts which make you sound like an idiot.

Thank you for your attention.

I mentioned a while ago that perhaps Trash Talk could perhaps be made silent for about a week so post quality could improve when we got back. I also read somewhere that something similar had worked before.

I'm guessing I'm to blame, what with the seven-post streak while I was at school.

Thank God. Maybe I could actually like this board now.
And the experiment you heard about was in the B&B. It was during a time of great tribulation when there was a massive spamming from an influx of newbies. Tension was running high, and mrxak suggested the B&B's denizens take a small vacation.
It seemed to work pretty well.

Hmm. Stealing the better ideas of BnB.

Anaxagoras: a look at my post count in recent weeks will say that you are not the only one to blame.

When do we start stop? I had suggested noon GMT next Monday (0600 Central Standard, 0400 for you West Coasters).

If you don't like it so much then why do I see you here so often. And oh, I was in the B&B when that happened, been there done that.

Can I suggest Friday the 25/11/05? The day Mario Kart is released in Europe? I'll have a defnite use for the extra free time then... Although we would run the risk of my not coming back...
Wow, you read a post by Ankhwatcher you must be so proud.

Mm hmm. Wait a minute...

ankhwatcher: Don't use shorthand dates. To us Americans, it reads as (25th month, 11th day, 2005th year, yes, we're wierd like that) On the other hand, to the enlightened, we know that it's 25th day, 11th month (...) For a minute I was thinking you were talking about a nonexistant month...

Note: The Apple Cøre does not have a moderator stick to slap people with if this fails to start. If it doesn't work... well, I tried.

I'm sure most of us could figure it out. Any Asians or Europeans just write that way naturally, so to them our system seems strange.

And I say we all just disregard that idea, because we'd be secretly overrun by BnB denizens while we're gone.

SA/Laguna could make sure we don't get overrun.

The problem with them is that they would either fight or make Trash Talk a better place when we get back.

It depends what you mean by better. Undoubtedly, their posts would have a point, but... We'd be flooded by crappy little topics announcing some political event, or lesbian college cheerleaders being caught having fun in a bar bathroom. We all know we wouldn't want that. Except for the lesbians, I'm cool with them.

I think we are all pro-lesbian as a general rule, although anti-lesbian in an overall sense (i.e. we want to get laid at some point in the future).

This topic is dripping with irony.

I take back what I was orginally going to say here. ATT a has gotten to serious for me. I don't come here to argue I come here to relax. If Ankhwatcher wants to argue about guns he can take it to just chat. For me, I'm taking my month long break starting now. I hope I don't have any reason to return...for a long while. Main reason other than ankhwatcher: tripps is following me. B)

I'm glad we didn't take a break. I have a daily post average to keep above 3.0, and that kind of thing simply couldn't do.
