It has recently come to my attention that, in the United States, we have both a National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day (April 9) and a National POW/MIA Recognition Day, 2005 (Sept 16). Does this seem a bit redundant? Has anyone else actually heard of these holidays before? Is it a coincidence that prostate cancer and ovarian cancer have to share their awareness month (September) with drug and alcohol addiction recovery?

The answers to these questions and more, next time Pallas randomly drops by! (you're probably better off answering them yourselves)

You... College...

It just doesn't fit.

No one needs college, unless they're actually going to do something in their lives. That's why CEOs rarely attend any school above third grade.

I don't know about the lunch at your school, but the lunch at my school has been sitting in hot water for over an hour. It's sanitary enough, but very bland.

Pufervian worthless advice of the day: Directly after a nuclear attack, it is not advisable to drink any non-sealed water. A while back (we're talking early 70's), a study was done to see how prepared US citizens were for such an attack containing various questions. By and large, respondants figured that boiling surface water contaminated with fallout would eliminate all risk of radiation exposure. These respondants were promptly stuffed in a small fallout shelter and paddled with official issue Civil Defense paddles. Radiation from fallout will quickly dissipate on surface water, but boiling it really won't affect anything of note. If you must drink surface water, attempt to skim off the top few centimeters of water and don't drink any water near to the bottom of the water source.

It isn't worthless after I get done playing a semi-successful game of Starcraft.
