That I announce my retirement as moderator of the Ares Webboards. As you all know, it's been more than four years since I was appointed, and it's been a great time. I've learnt a bunch about people, about the internet, and especially about people communicating on the internet, and had some good times too.

Unfortunately, I just no longer have the time to devote an hour or so a day, every day of the week, to the webboards - and, as we've seen during my absence over Christmas, things don't run too smoothly without a steady commitment. I will be nominating Avatara as my replacement, in the full confidence that he will mature with the extra responsibility and not carry the boards to hell in a handbasket. If he does, I'm sure Tripps will step in (given that that's his natural environment).

I don't want to miss anyone out, so I won't make individual goodbyes, but to everyone who's created the camaraderie that marks the ATT today, I thank you. To everyone whose inane sidetracking has left given me the last word in half the topics on the board, I thank you. To everyone who's tried to abandon the boards and come slinking back two weeks later, I thank you.

To all the members of the ATT community, so long, and thanks for all the fish. Don't go too crazy without me, eh?
Sundered Angel,
The One and Only

Ares Webboard Moderator, and all-around Nice Guy

As a wise man once said, "Write if you find work, wealth, or good health down the road so that we'll be sure to find you and spoil all of your fun." ;)

Anyway, you'll still be around, just without the fluffy moderator suit, won't you? Or is this bueno bye for good? :P

If you are taking off, I wish you all the best and would like to extend to you an open invitation for a cup of coffee/tea/beer/sugar and a breakfast burrito if ever you end up in my neck of the universe. If you're not, the good wishes turn into coupons for free korfball lessons at the New Haven YMCA, but the invitation still stands as previously stated.

It is with mixed feelings that I post this reply.

For one, I'm sorry to see you go, you always had a witty sense of humor that nobody else could match. I don't think it really takes an hour every day (some days yes, but not most) to moderate so you probably could continue to manage.

On the other hand, your demise furthers my goal of oppressive domination.

I find it interesting that you post this on April 1, (as have already been fooled on BnB) so I will make this a cautious post.

If you really are leaving, well I don't know you that well, but I am sorry to see you go, although there was that one time... anyway you will be missed.

In the case that this is some stupid April fools joke, I find it kind of childish, but to each his own sense of humor. I guess you aren't claiming to be dead or anything ( I guess that will come next year :P). See ya later.

Actually, it was posted last night...or maybe it's my time zone. Hrm.

Anyway, my response: I like your good-bye, I use that all the time(thanks for all the fish).

Au revoir, mon ami (yes, I know I'm mixing languages). I hope you have fun April Fooling everyone.

Thanks Tripps...

4 years since your appointment, so a bit before I got here. If you really are leaving then I'm sad to see you go - I think you are probably the only sane one left here.

I understand the time comittment issue, though, and without my deskjob I doubt I'd ever swing by.

Gonna miss you, SA. You held a major role of my ATT vs. BnB evaluation! Your legend of your work here shall last forever, or at least until we get off topic again. ;)

This doesn't mean you won't be stopping by every once in awhile? I couldn't imagine the place without even a little bit of you.

I think Avatara will make a good mod for this board.

And if this is an April's Fools Prank, I feel really silly... :P

SA, I highly suggest that you come by Reno soon and hang out with us.

Have fun in all your future exploits.

So, if he's the bald guy, yes. But if he's not, no.

I'm guessing he is the guy facing us. But if so, its kind of freaky, he looks like a vampire from Blade. (maybe that's just the sword :P )

And yes, I'm bitter (:P) because you didn't take my Lumberjack/Moderator song seriously. ;)

I will miss you a lot. And I agree with dude3 in this case. We're all a lot cooler in person.
