. I can only bottom turn, every wave I get I just spin round (I can actually bottom turn really tightly) and either shoot off the back of the wave, get nailed in the break or fall of my board leaning too far down the wave... it's gay.

start on small wave. Where do you surf? I go to coacoa, and the north end waves are best for learning to top turn cause they break off a small sand bar so they're slow and medium sized. The whole technique to top turning is to head to the top fast, kick out, and stay in the centre of the board. Its hard to learn at first, but its really simple once to get it. Its all in the flow...bro.....
