Lich Building? What is the building in the mountains?

Once you get past the daemons, inside the last inner room, there are two golems, a lich, a blue crystal ball, and a throne. But the lich stands there and does nothing. When you attack it, it just starts walking around. The common belief is that it is Tavara and that he has turned himself into a lich.

But if it's Tavara you would think that he would be a little more powerful...
Whatever, if you kill one of the daemons in there and then you leave, will the daemon still
be gone when you come back?

Yeah, I busted in there, killed the golems and Tavara.
Dang, golems being the weakest monster in the game, I am dissapointed in
Tavara. You would think that a guy who could destroy a city would do better than a couple of golems as his personal bodyguards.
Then when I got back from the stronghold I left my crystal balls on the counter in my room and they dissapeared.

In the bar at the bottom that shows the portrait of you and your party, select the "attack" under Hector and Meleager, one at a time. I don't exactly remember where on the portrait that part is, but there should be something that lets you select something for each one to do. Once you have chosen "attack" click on a target, and whoever you told to attack it, will. That is the best way to exercise command over who or what your men attack.
I've found that if you can figure it out, it isn't hard to write AI scripts that are better than the original ones...I actually wrote some for some of the characters (available at my website below...I thought I'd submitted to the addons page but I guess it never made it...plus I've kind of forgotten about this whole thing). Granted it's still not as good as using your method for complete control, but it does make your party characters a little less annoying when you're not micromanaging them.
Also, on another note, I'm trying to figure out why people like Death Strike so much. I guess I was never into getting my magic stats up, so I would always run out of mana. I just concentrated on getting ridiculously powerful weapons (*cough*swordofheroes*cough*) and saving my magic for healing purposes.
A couple other things -- I could also never get the strange helmets (the ones that look like a full helmet w/o the red thing on top, right?) to protect me against Demons' or Lichs' spells (or whatever specific thing they were supposed to protect me against). I swear everyone in my party was wearing them.
And lastly, I thought that spear-wielding ability was the same thing as sword ability, if I remember correctly. I could be wrong, but that's what I thought.

About Death Strike, it's best to use it when you have both Mages Friend and Healing Potions handy. (Healing are made from sulfer and are white; Mages Friend are made of Obsidian and are pitch black. Both Sulfer and Obsidian can be found in the lands End Volcano)
In any case, Death Strike is most useful when you are fighting a few powerful monsters. My best charecter has taken many liches and demons with that ability. It's also better if you can take the monster without the spell.
As far as the Strange Helmits, they don't protect you completely, but they do help. What spells effect your party members? I don't think they protect from parlyzation. Just Confusion and Fear.

Really, I have been paralyzed, confused, and sacred while wearing the helmet.
I love death strike, but it is a bad idea to rely on it because if you hit the preform button, and then the moster moves out of reach, you just wasted a lot of mana.

Well I'm pretty sure the helmits don't make you immune, but they increase your resistance. Death Strike is great, but as I said before, it's better not to rely on it conpletely.
In response to my earlier question I'd like to say the no, the Mystic Helmit doesn't protect like the strange helmits do.

What Slayer's Guide says about the Mystic helmet and where to get it.
Out of curiousity, do you have the mystic spear or the mystic armor?
