Hey, is there any good strategy for travelling in the Swamp? My group gets poisoned almost as soon as we enter, we can kill asps all day and never run out, and I can't just walk thru ignoting them 'cause my boys always want to stay and fight.

Advice?

I think there's a kind of boots you can get (gator boots?) through a quest which will limit or prevent the effects of being poisoned. I don't know how many pairs you can get though, so it might just help you. You could try leaving your party at the edge of the swamp, and tell them to rejoin you as you're entering a cave or something.

Yup, going solo's your best bet. You can also minimise the risk by keeping to the sea shore as much as possible, iirc.

Nah, the boots are lava proof. I think.

No, they're poison-proof. You can only get one pair, unless you use the duplication cheat, and you still have to risk the swamp in the first place to get the material needed to make them.

Yes they are lava proof, but they are also swamp-proof. Any sort of footwear reduces the %change to get bitten in the swamp...Sandals do almost squat, Normal Boots reduce by about 50%, and Gator boots reduce the %chance to virtually nil. Maybe you could replicate some gator boots? I haven't tried that yet...

You could also just ignore your party and run through, and as soon as you get to a new area, you could use "mass cure".

Interesting, I'll have to try that out.

I usually just use gator boots, and regular boots for the rest of my party. That works out quite good. If somebody does get poisoned, mass cure is indeed a good idea.
Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the War Room.

Also:
* Omen's ring heals faster than poison hurts.
* Gators may be led out of the swamp to get the corpse.
* Not certain, but I believe increased body helps resist poison also. Or perhaps being a higher level in general.
