Looks pretty much like any old snapshot of a cythera game in progress, right?

But there's something different with this one... can you figure out what it is?

Converting Cythera to Windows?

..or the multiple window layers?

It's the scrolly bar in the box! You didn't usually get them, also the lack of bar down the bottom, i.e. the bar with the party screen, journal etc.
And maybe (but I'm not sure) the shadow beneath the draw. And of course the faded effect at the shots edge, but that might be just the picture.
Is it being carbonized???? Posted Image

I think he's referring to the drop shadows.

There's no status bar, and there's shadows on the edges of the windows, is that all? Hmm.... Is it something special about this screenshot? A different version of Cythera? A new one?

Carbonized, assuming there are shadows.

Ahhhh! I haven't stopped by in three months and so much has happened. I definitely noticed the differences, the shadows, the scroll bar and such. But that doesn't help me if they carbonize it!! I'm still on 8.1 right now. By the time I have enough money for a new Mac they're going to have 14.6 out. Oh well, it still looks cool, and if they bother to carbonize it who knows what else they might do?

a) There's no status bar at the bottom.
:P There's no menu bar at the top.
c) The cancel button is supposed to be next to the don't save button( not sure about it, though).
d) Theres a scroll bar on the crate
e) The character status box says that the character is eqipped with the amulet, but it says "use-0/16"

1: Drop shadows, meaning the game is running on X
2: Crates and such have scroll bars
3: There is no status bar at the bottom of the screen
4: The save dialog is structured differently
5: There seem to be too many haystacks south of the farmhouse...

Wait a minute. I heard a rumor not too long ago that Cythera was being ported to Mac OS X. I guess it was right! Posted Image

The rumour probably started from this very thread, which dates back to 06-17-2003.

Yes, I hope they go through with an OS X port. I use X almost exclusively these days, and it would be nice to be able to fire up Cythera for another run through.
