I'm poisoned in the middle of the night at King's Hall. If I sleep the amulet crumbles 'cause it will be its last time, and it's still night time, so Alaric is asleep. I have no spells for curing and no potions (i already use the ones that were there before), no unguent... what should I do?

If you are wearing the ring from Omens test, simply take off the amulet and go to sleep like that, the ring will stop you from dieing.
If you have the spell Awaken you could try that on Alaric, and ask him to heal you then.
Another option is to go adventuring somewhere, and find some ugnuent or healing potions. I believe there is some Uguent in the mine, or perhaps in the ruffian encampment aswell?

Sorry Davely, I havn't played in a while and can't remember what it's like to be poisened, but if all else fails I suppose you could just stay awake until the morning, it may take ages, but it's better then dieing.

Is that a ring from a that test in the beginning of the game? If it is, how come I don't have it??

I have tried and tried and was never able to find the ring. Yes, you get it in Omen's test. If you don't get it at the beginning of the game, then you can re-enter the test using a secret passage.

Omen's ring location:

In the first area of the test, enter the secret room with the key to the next area (not the secret room with the shortcut to the exit, I've made this mistake several times), now you need to examine the west wall to find a secret passage. You should now be in a small empty room with a burnt out torch on the wall. Examine the torch and you should find the ring, pick it up.

Actually, Alacric never sleeps, he just goes into his room to read and keep up to date with his study of Cythera. His room is in the top left of Land King Hall. You can always break in the door or go through the secret passages and un-mage-lock the other one. Break in, use a spell (if you have mana or a scroll), or use a bomb.

Do you mean a room where there's: (1) a magically locked door leading to a room where there are two pools of water and (2) a regular metal door leading to another room where there's a bed a statue and a plant? 'Cause that one's in the top LEFT of King Hall and all I have in the top right is that passage going to the cave underground where there's that square force field. I really don't see where his room is and none of my keys will fit that one non-magical door (if that happens to be the right one). Also, I don't know how I would "break" in? I tried "attacking" the door but nothing happens. I have Mage lock but not Un-mage lock. Any help please!

Alaric's room is in the top left. Probably the one with the bed and the plant. Theo just messed up, the top right is indeed a hole to a cave.

I'm still having problems getting in there though. I think I read somewhere that I need to "break" in with a mace but with the little health I have left and poisoned I tried various times killing Ruffians at Cardemia but none of them seems to be dropping one. As for the "Cademia Hut" mentioned earlier by LifeKnight, for the ring, if it's the underground where the porticulis are I can't open them, i found a lever but it doesn't open the porticulis i need to get naywhere... I'm roaming arround not knowing what to do... I'm a mage still at the beginning of the game, level 5 btw. (Thanx for the prompt responses btw, I find that the Ambtrosia webboards are generally cool.)

I ment the top left. Also, the doors are switched, the regular-locked door is the front door, and the mage-locked back door is to the pools and the secret passage.

You don't need a mace to break the door, it is just reputed the easiest. That door is particularly hard, but I once counted around 250 swings with the starting sword. Still much faster than waiting for morning, and once its unlocked it always will be. I'm not really sure what factors into attacking doors (what weapon type, magic enhancements or the body of person swinging do), or what would be next best behind mace, (short sword or decorative axe are both easy to get in LKH). Anyone know? *pokes Slayer* Where did you get the info about the mace?

through the search option, for breaking walls, i think. I'd still die waiting 'till morning though... this is becoming frustrating!

If I remember correctly, I just asked Hector about it. Through experimentation it is easy to tell that maces are really good for breaking down doors and destroying chests and such. As has been mentioned, you can do these things with pretty much any weapon, but the mace seems to be best. I can't say i've tested the rolling pin, though Posted Image

I'm healed already! Feels so good after so many days (literally) of trying!! I do admit i never would have been able to get out of this one without looking around for "semi-spoilers" I went and managed to get the spell I needed for that door, with some difficulty. I'm surprised Alaric wasn't mad that we barged in.

Oddly, he never is. Perhaps it has to do with his illness... Posted Image
