I just installed IRC on my iBook, but I can't get it to work. Upon checking Ident, it tells me "USER :Not enough parameters" (though I'm connected to the server), and when I try to join #cythera, I get the message "JOIN :Register first". Even if #cythera was empty, this seems just wrong. (Using X-Chat btw.)
Anyone can tell me what's up with that?

Well, never mind, I'm on now. Must've been a server-down or something...

Sorry, I don't know X-Chat. And I don't think the server's been down since December 18th.

Did you not have a username the first time?

I use X-Chat, never had any problems. Ever.

Well, I've written bad python scripts which've crashed it, and when I tried the Debian version, I had some trouble at first. But I don't think either of those are valid complaints Posted Image

Now that I think of it, I should reinstall X-Chat on this computer (I wiped it earlier this month and installed Debian on a second partition).

I haven't seen you on AIM in a while, where can I contact you?

Actually, when I upgraded back to 10.2, it disabled yaboot, and I haven't been in Debian since. That's not to say I won't be, but for the time being, I have no need to bother going back into Open Firmware when I mostly use OS X.

As for contacting me... how about IRC? Posted Image

Pff, who uses IRC? Posted Image

By the way, if you're back - how are those alliance rankings coming along? We've missed them for almost two months now

Which brings me to a slight complaint. The lack of topics on this board is causing the HTML tables in the web-boards summary to not align properly. This is somewhat visualy irritating, and I'd be quite happy if you'd pick up the posting some, so that you have at least ten topics all the time Posted Image

Honestly, if you're going to try something new, you might as well go all the way. Besides, it's not *that* hard to hold down Cmd-Opt-O-F then type boot hd:9,yaboot, is it?

I don't think it's likely I'll get alliance ranking operational any time soon - when I wiped the computer, I lost my old MySQL tables (although there is a backup that I can't get to), as well as the cron scheduling.
