I hope this helps you. And the skills you get are quite useful.
If you are comeletely stuck, visit Slayer's page. But for now, stay away from it. It will spoil the game.

Thanks, LifeKnight! I now know the skills persuasion and haggling.
Good for you. Remember that persuasion will help you talk to those who don't want to talk to you, and haggling (I think) will improve your bargining skills, cause prices to go down in shops, smiths, and inns. Those skills are useful to say the least.

Too bad I couldn't use persuasion to get people to join me! Oh well. Besides Timon, Meleager, Hector and Aethon, who else can join your party?
Dryas and Ariadne can both join you, but only temporarily. (See http://homepage.mac....ytheracrazy.jpg )

Well, there is one space left in there. I KNOW that Ariadne and Dryas can join you until you do something that gets them out of your party, (you know, doing your mission n' stuff) but there was one space left-up to 8 people are allowed in your party. Are you SURE that there isn't one other person that can join you?

Eh, everybody knows that these game help threads are always full of spoilers, anyway. Also, people rarely actually use the search function to find answers to their questions, so new threads are started anyway as soon as the old thread is forgotten.
Nothing wrong with that, so long as they aren't on the first page. Keeps there something interesting for us to do, as this thread demonstrates.

Just another sign that the game was never finished. Theoretically, maybe there were going to be more people to join you, but they were left out. Or perhaps 8 is just a more even number than 7; 2^3 as apposed to a prime. No other party members have ever been found. But who is to say there aren't some complicated specifics to get some random person or other to join? Good ol' Cythera...

I can see it now:

Actually my amulet has long since shattered. But you get the idea.

One time, in the chamber where you find the Sword of Heroes or whatever, I managed to get one to walk on top of me. It dies fairly quickly if you hit it with a sword, but if it doesn't walk on top of you, you have no chance of reaching it.

I've spent all day playing, and I've gotten pretty far. I'm now trying to conquer the cove and get the mystic spear and the timeflux boox.
Wow, this game really is twisted. What I was trying to do before, I am now doing the exact opposite. I don't even know where this will lead me next.

That's why we're still fans. Cythera may be buggy and incomplete, but it has one of the most interesting, entertaining, and original plots of any RPG I've seen. When you first start, its like "Brought here from Earth to save weakened king and a dying world, yadda yadda yadda. Seen this before." But once you get into it, you find all of these interesting aspects of the world itself that complicate your quest so much that you end up having to help piece together the bad guy's ultimate weapon in order to win. It is very cool.

The undine stronghold doesn't have any real bearing on the results of the game. You can ignore it completely and still complete the game. (Another sign that the game was never truly completed.) Of course, if you don't go in there, you don't get the cool stuff that is hiding in there, and you don't get to look at Tavara's journal. It contains helpful information, but isn't vital.

Okay, another question. I'm trying to get the wonderful Mystic Armor from the Harpy cave. I found the cave location on dear old Slayer's site map, but when I enter the location, all I found is a big old hole in the ground! I don't dare kill it with the Fetch Trick, but tell me how I get into the cave!
