NVN, Mac Version

Hmm... I don't know if this is new news for anyone here, but NVN has a macintosh version!!! I figured roleplaying Cytherans might be interested in this (atleast, I remember Avatara getting annoyed whenever I asked if he played because he said there wasn't a mac version)

Aye. And that's nwn, btw. I've played it through once, now I'm halfway through the Shadows of Undrentide expansion. Brilliant game, very replayable, extremely extendable with thousands of third party modules and cross-platform network play. Highly recommended. Pity there's no toolset for Mac, but the OpenKnights project looks promising.
While we're on the topic of other games, anyone else tried No One Lives Forever?

Wow... I've been out of the gaming scene for far too long...
Guess that's what I get for having an outdated computer. NWN supposedly requires 128 MB of virtual memory. I only have 92, and while it still runs, it's about half a frame a second. Quite sad... I've had it since it first came out (for windows) and my friend got it last week and is far, far beyond me.

I played NWN's from start to finish, but I never really enjoyed it so much as others, it felt very linear, and the problems weren't real brain teasers like in Cythera, but more... well I got the feeling that if I walked around long enough I'd find the answer. Long enough in NWN's is about an hour or so, where as in Cythera it was months.
Just my worthless opinion .

Aye. One of my favorites. If it had a shotgun, it would be the perfect game.

For real linear, see Icewind Dale and Dungeon Siege. Didn't stop me enjoying either one of those, although they don't have the repeat-play appeal of NWN.

*refers again to how he bought it the week it came out but hasn't been able to play more than a tiny bit*
Doesn't it have a scenario creator thing? Couldn't you desine your own game to be more... puzzling? (continues sketching out his secret plans for the bestest game ever, atleast best in every way but graphically...)

No tools for Mac or Linux, yet. That's what the OpenKnights project is for. As to scenarios that are more 'cerebral' than 'action', there are a few around that can be downloaded; just browse through the modules on the website.

Hmm, shotgun. I'm partial to the crossbow with telescopic sight, myself. I think NoLF2 might be one of the few games I'd be willing to pay full price for, when it's released, joining a very short list consisting of Civ3, WC3, NWN and EV:Nova. (I might consider an OS X version of Cythera, but it's getting a bit dated now.)
One thing I really liked about NoLF was that it wrapped up the storyline very well at the end. So many games just leave you hanging, with no sense of closure. Actually, Cythera was pretty good that way too, as I recall.
