I didn't want to revive the old one, but I think it may be a good idea to compile some sort of history of the Cythera webboard. Now, I haven't been around this board long enough to be able to report on anything older than a year ago, when the Cythera board was already in decline. I can write a chapter on "A Mini-Renaissance: Too Little, Too Late". Anybody qualified to write anything else?

[edit] I wonder how long it will take for someone to reply.

Seven hours? Not great, but acceptable. Of course, I can't add anything constructive to the topic, so I'm not sure whether or not it should be counted.

Damn.

I knew this would pop upAGAIN.

Glenn Andreas rarely posts on the board made to support his own creation. By not allowing an expandable Cythera he smothered it before raw, new ideas could be tapped. If Cythera is a 'complete' work then why is there a useless "User File" and whyis the scenario full of bugs? Surely he has reasons not to finally polish his work, but I only wish they were reasonable reasons.

*Sigh*

(I hope he reads this, considers it, and deletes my post soon)

Well, back then not fixing it was questionable; but now, are there really all that many people buying Cythera? Cythera seems, sadly enough, a bit outdated compared to some of the games you can find for the mac. What benefit will a new patch bring aside from appeasing a handful of users?

I didn't restart this topic to complain about the lack of updates/sequels, vIsitor. I thought it would be a good idea to compile some sort of history of the webboard so we can post it in some archive before they have to shut down this board, which seems to be more and more likely, with the lack of activity. Also, what's so bad about me bringing this back up? It's not as if you can deny that the board is in severe decline. Some more recent posters won't even register!

Well, I came to the board about five or six years ago not long after Cythera came out, but the fun really began about three or four years ago when the first roleplyaing Team Story was started here on the forums. That was when the original Alraecian Tavern was started, as well as the Undine Stronghold, in which I tried my absolute best to sound too mature for my twelve-year old mind. I had fun, got serious, and even tried to write some Chronicles. I learned, and taught.
Unfortunately, I had to drop out of about my fifth Team Story because all my time was beginning to be sucked into other video games. Since then, I've thought of several new story concepts*, but I can never get past Chapter One on any of them before I decide to rewrite. I came back recently to see if the Team Stories were still going, so I'm missing a huge chunk out of this "history."

I shall again, attempt to write Volume 6. I agree that we should add a chapter about the mini-Renaissance.
