Well, you can get one in the Ruffian Encampment, on the East side of the mountains, almost parralel with Kosha. There are also some in Kosha, and I belive there may be some in the Abandoned Farmhouse that you rescue Ariadane (sp?) from.

What is the odd helmet used to? Is it better than the full helmet? Is it special in any way?

The downside is that the odd helm is less effective against physical attack. I think that's a small price to pay, though.

Helm is just short for helmet.
