There are no chronicles this week. For the first time in a very long time, there really are no chronicles in the queue.

Bryce, does your computer have anything random to whip up? Maybe we can use those as fillers, if you don't mind. (random image of Bryce's computer winning a "Chronicle of the Month" competition) Posted Image

(gives you a chance to work on or test out any new improvements on that chron generator if you wanted to Posted Image)

I'm sure it would be honored to help you Posted Image

I'll have it whip something up, and maybe I'll add some more sentence types if I can find the source code for that program.

Okay, "Cythera Chronicles: Conspiracy of UrSlyph's Stolen Jade Book", (CUSJB) authored by my very own Macintosh, has been posted...

Oh, this is the first public exhibition of the work of the C port of the RSJ IV, which can put out about five thousand lines a second as opposed to the METAL basic version, which seemed to top out at about 500 sentences a second. A few of the sentences in CUSJB are, however, copy-pasted from the old version for variety.

[edit]
Oh yes - if anyone wants the source code of the old version, just let me know.

Heh, when did you teach your computer about "fat buckets of sour milk" and "listening to bellies with batteries?"

We'll see what Slayer wants to do with it, but at least the queue isn't empty. Posted Image

I inputed the former today while filling up the new C Random Story Generator with Cytheria-ish words, such as 'bucket of sour milk', 'sword', 'scroll', and 'goat'. The latter was the result of me not bothering to adjust the word list (I only changed the name list) in the old RSG when I copied in some random sentences from it's output into the story the new one made. (The new one was rather dull in some places, and I figured it couldn't hurt to let the computer spice it up a bit by adding some stuff about batteries and boxers...)

I need to rewrite the whole thing to take word lists from datafiles so I don't have to recompile it when I change the word list, and some more flexible sentence templates would be in order to - the existing ones limit the length of the story by the fact that three characters using the same basic sentence "I do not fear your * *, for I have a * * of *ing" would seem odd. Maybe I'll write a program to rip sentence templates from great works of fiction and change the nouns, verbs, &c. to fit the new story.
