What does the lever in the miner's dormitory at the mining camp do?

I think it raises and lowers the portcullis at the front of the camp, if I remember correctly. I'm not sure what purpose it has, perhaps someone else knows.

Hm... I'm not sure it would close the front entrance, because then someone could direct-nexus out then never be able to get back in.

Is that really that uncommon? In the Tyrant's Tomb, there is that whole section that collapses behind you. I'm pretty sure that the lever closes the entrance to the camp, but I haven't playedin a while and could use some conformation...

I've checked that. It doesn't operate a portcullis to the entrance. But then of course, what does it operate????

It may well have been intended to operate a portcullis, but they just forgot to put in the portcullis. Also, there might have been a portcullis at one time, but it caused people to get locked out of that rather important area. A third possibility is that I'm completely wrong about this. I guess we may never know.

I'd like to know where that wall is. Theres a white area outside of the hall that has a dresser, a blue crystal ball and a dead guy (sometimes) but I can't figure out how to get out there.

I don't know how to get to that white room. But there is a mage locked door conndcting to Alaric's Lab which leads to the ethereal void. There should be two pools. Under one, do detect secrets. Got the fun?!?!

I believe I have discovered the secret of the lever (Applause). I could be wrong but it might open the secret passage in Etocoles (ratcatchers guild leader) room. It is in the southern area of his room. Hope this helps. Post a reply if wrong or right!

I believe (No applause) that you are wrong. The lever to that door which you suggest is under a table in Aethon's house.

Sorry to disappoint you.

The wall that flashes in the caverns in the northern portion of Landking hall is one that you can walk through. It leads to the cave that can also be entered from the west side of the mountains (follow the river Sitia to its headwaters). If you can't walk through it, you may have to enter it from the other side first.

There are three ways into the "white room." One is through a secret door in Magpie's room. Another is to use the narrow passage in the northwest part of the caved in training room. The final is the conventional method--use the door in Alaric's room.

Do you actually know which white room we're talking about here? When you go into Alaric's lab, and make your world window as big as posible you should walk around and then be able to see a room coloured with a white background. It has a crystal ball and a dresser. That room is not reachable. It is not connected to the secret passage from the ethereal void room, even though it seems that way.

There's no way to reach it. I've searched and tried every wall remotely near it, and they're all real.

Regarding the white room contents...

You can use the Crystal Ball through Remote Manipulation. Not that it does you much good, but it works. You're also given the option to Examine, Talk, or Attack, but as with most objects, the latter two accomplish nothing. Remote Manipulation of the dresser will start to open the drawers, and then fail to do so.

*Points to link in sig* I've been there ages ago. There's nothing of note, although the free ball is nice i guess. The dresser is empty.

It may very well be something secret, or a "forgotten thing", but secret sounds exciting. Don't you think? Isnt there a lot of secrets in Cythera? However, I haven't found any "real" secrets.

A while back, I discovered a way to 'teleport' in Cythera, by editing the saved game files with a hexidecimal editing tool. Slayer and myself explored most of the places that were thought previously to be some kind of secret areas, and none were found. The white room, areas outside the walls in the Land King Hall and underneith Abydos, as well as the sewers, are all simply empty or populated by random junk, as in the 'White Room'. (Which is, incedently, the most interesting of the areas I visited, becuase it contained something semi-useful.)

You know that white room reminds me of the "construct" program from the Matrix... I'm just waiting for a rack of weapons to come zooming in Posted Image.

How did you do that, you say?

And what is the "white rooms"?

Please, tell me how to do that? Can you do it with Resedit?

Click the link in my .sig - it's in Slayer's guide. You don't use resedit, it's another editor program, though. Hopefully the links in the guide are still good...
