Does any one know where I could find a cheate or character editor for Cythera?
Also, what are you all using to make patches and other custom things?

Welcome to the boards Posted Image It's nice to have you here.

And now, Big Joe will go an a little rant, as this is a slightly sore subject with him:

There is no way to edit/modify/patch/make plugins for Cythera. Plugins for EV/O/N can be made with ResEdit, but not for Cythera. The way it's programmed; one has to hack the game just to modify your character's stats. You can learn to do these little legal hacks here or here. You can't make your own little house, you can't make another NPC for your party, you can't make a boat so you can sail around, unless you illegally reverse engineer the game and make an editor. I have heard that some people have tried this, but I have never heard of a success. And it's illegal, so I wouldn't advise it. All things in the Cythera addons page were made with ResEdit or with small, legal hacks, with the exception of some things, which were made by Ambrosia itself. Ambrosia considers Cythera a "done project" and will not be updating it, patching it, or otherwise modifying it. Also, they won't be making game development system based on the Delver engine (which was made for Cythera), even though it's more versatile than Coldstone, because they couldn't make any money off of it if they did.

And Big Joe ends his rant, saying:

I apologize for posting this in response to your post, Pierot. I don't want to make you feel bad, or scare you off, and I know that you are new here and didn't know about this. I am just a little bitter about this myself, as I would have fun modifying Cythera, but I also try to avoid doing illegal things. Please forgive me if I took it out on you.

Thats alright. thanks though, ahhhh, such a waste. They could triple the life expectance of the game with an editor, triple it again with a sequel. It could get to be Marathon proportions, im mean that literally for those who have never played Marathon or one of its sequels.

Not to offend anyone, but even Cythera would be hard-pressed to be anywhere near as great as Marathon. (Go Durandal!!!) :-D
