Yes, boys and girls, it's that time again. This month, we have a number of contenders. In the interest of fairness, I have chosen to disqualify Hand of Fate, as that chronicle was specially commissioned to stomp every other chronicle in existence. The candidates, in reverse chronological order are as follows:

Hmm, that's a tough choice. I'm going to have to think about it for a bit.

Well, if its stomped everything around, then I guess Ill have to start up a second chron as I write Tyrant's Ring with Mr S. Itll be a long and involved one, in fact, itll be the one I thought up a couple months back. Ill try to compete with it, which if I give it enough time, I will. When that story is done, perhaps mega-chrons will get judged or something like that.

I have to say "Beyond, Preview". BTW, I'm working on a chron of my own. Probably will be submitted early to mid October.

I think I'm going to have to cast my vote for Silent Dawn, although it's a close run thing between that and Below Sight. Probably the main edge Silent Dawn has is that it's not the first chronicle with those characters, and I've formed a small degree of rapport with them. If Below Sight had been at part 2 or 3, I might well have chosen differently. Not to detract from Mr Somebody's work, though - they're both very good pieces of writing.

I'm going to vote for Below Sight, though I admit, I had a lot of trouble deciding between that and Mr. Somebody's. In the end, the novelty of having a Cythera chron that was about *gasp* Cytheran characters won me over. Both are very worthy chronicles.

Looks like we have a tie. The next vote will decide which chron will be September's Chronicle of the Month.

And I cite the official rules.

From the official rules:
In the event that votes are tied after one week of voting, one additional member is allowed to vote. This voter must vote for one of the chronicles that is tied. After this vote is cast, the winner is decided.

This month's vote was hard. When a story begins, the readers are unfamiliar (most of the time) with the main characters and are just learning about the plot. Most of the real fun in the story begins further along, with the first few segments setting the world up and beginning to introduce the key characters.

Both Silent Dawn and Beyond were at the beginning of a story, setting up events that if the writers continue, could be a very good read. Its difficult, and sometimes unfair, to have to evaluate stories that haven't fully been developed.

Mr. Somebody, your story looks like it could become very interesting and enjoyable, with the events you've begun to set up. I hope you'll continue, I'm curious as to how their journey will turn out, and what perils await them.

Bryce, I enjoyed your segment of the story more. You ended with a foreboding cliffhanger, so now we have to wait to see what'll happen to Xax and his men. Your story was well written for a prologue, and I believe it deserves the Chronicle of the Month award for September.

I would like to nominate Mr. Somebody for the honorible mention, on account of this being such a close vote.

Thank you, Bryce. Beyond is really a very nice piece of work. Good job. Posted Image However, for October, I am sure Silent Dawn 2 can take chronicle of the month, if all goes well...

So it is decided. Congratulations, Bryce! I will probably update my site Sunday, as I'll be away from my home computer for a couple of days.

I've returned from the southeast regional ACM collegiate programming contest in which my team placed third out of 80 teams. As promised, I've updated the Chronicle of the Month site to include this month's winner and honorable mentions.
