What do you think is better, PoG or Cythera?

Graphics-PoG
Music-PoG
Sound-PoG
Fighting-PoG
Easy to Play-PoG
Overall-PoG
The fighting in Cythera was terrible(no offense to Ambrosia). It was boring just pressing the same key and having turn-based fighting. I guess that it is unfair since PoG was released much later. The graphics in Cythera were okay, but PoG's are better.
It's late, and it is getting increasingly difficult to see the compute screen in front of me, so I will continue this post tomorrow.
Anyone else have any opinions?

Also, you neglect to mention a vital component to RPGs- the story.
Personally, I haven't really played enough of PoG to decide.

The graphics in PoG were good. However, they were not great, the overall visual effects were pathetic. For instance, those little 2-d butterflies that flew around, or the utter lack of lighting effects.
You say: Music-PoG
I dunno... PoG had two repetitive music tracks... Cythera, I don't really remember.
You say: Sound-PoG
Yeah, probobly...
You say: Fighting-PoG
Cythera crushes PoG here. Pog has two keys - z and x - to do all its functions. Fight, talk, ect. If that dosen't tell you alot about the game's terribility (Is that a word?), not much will.
You say: Easy to Play-PoG
Okay, Ibut only in the same sense that a peice of paper is eaiser than a computer to use.
You say: Overall-PoG
Hahahahaahahha!
PoG is a poor excuse for a RPG. It is an adventure game, with a underdeveloped RPG element. Its combat system is inflexible and weak, like the coldstone spawened 'RPG' it is.
The graphics may be flashy, but the game's world? Its so shallow its pitiful.
Let's see you combine flour and water and kneed them and then bake ot make bread, milk a goat and churn the milk to make butter, put the butter on the bread and enjoy.
Oh, That's right, you can't. In your poor excuse for an RPG you don't even have to eat food, ecept to heal yourself. The same with sleep.
"Oh, i've been awake for a week, but I sprained my ankle, so I need to rest at the inn or eat some fruit.". Right...

This from someone who plays *PoG*? Sigh...

Well, I sort of agree with you here. The ones in Cythera were too bright for my tastes, I like the dark colors in some areas of PoG better, but Bryce is right. Those poorly animated butterflies were obnoxious.
Graphics: Tie
Music-PoG
No, I like Cythera's music far better. Especially the one when travelling outdoors on the mainland, I really like that song and its one of those few that if it repeats over and over it doesn't get annoying. PoG's music gets annoying, fast. (save that one outdoor song you don't hear a lot of)
Music: Cythera
Sound-PoG
Yep, it wins hands down.
Sound: PoG
Fighting-PoG
I don't know...they're two completely different systems (turn based vs real time) so you can't fairly compare them. I happen to prefer real time, so it'd be a biased judgement here.
Fighting: No comment
Easy to Play-PoG
Yes, put a brick on the mouse key and go cook dinner, you're right. But that doesn't mean its more interesting or enjoyable than Cythera.
Easy to Play: PoG
Depth of Gameplay-Oops, you skipped this one
Cythera is a lot more in depth than PoG, you can do almost anything you could in real life. (what's with no cute females? ) You have to worry about the state of your character, if he's hungry, sick, tired [of playing PoG], or simply dead. You can also do many things to prepare for each of those eventualities. Yes, Cythera may be slow-moving, because its turn-based. Put a brick on one of the keypad numbers and it'll go faster than PoG however.
Depth: Cythera
Overall-PoG
Overall? I don't know, I'd have to rate each game on each category and compare the totals for this to work out. But I also think you're forgetting that Cythera is 4-5 years older than PoG, so this comparison is rather unfair.
Overall: No Comment

Well, actually, I forget what Cythera's music sounded like. It is better than PoG's, actually.

Graphics-PoG: I liked 'em better, for some reason.
Music-Cythera: Eat me. The music in PoG sucked.
Sound-PoG: True
Fighting-Unfair comparison: Two different fighting engines.
Easy to Play-PoG: arrow keys, z, and x. Can't get much easier.
STORY-Cythera: the 'monster attacks capital and only you (yes you!) can leave and find a way to stop them' thing is over-used.
Overall-Undecided: I don't know which one I like better. I played Cythera a lot more, but PoG is still fresh in my memory.

Music - Cythera hands down. Cythera had some good music, there were a number of types in different areas. PoG had only a couple of themes, they weren't that great.
Sound - Can't decide. PoG flowed more with the sounds and they varied a bit more. Cythera had a sound for everything you did, which was cool, but they weren't exactly spectacular.
Fighting - Cythera definitly. The whole two button thing kinda killed the control system for me in PoG.
Easy to Play - PoG. Two keys, need I say more?
Story - Cythera donimates here. Cythera was very twisting. You never knew what would happen. The end was not what you expected at all. PoG, you know that you'll save the city.
Overall - Cythera. I just can't get enough of it. The gameplay was fun, the story interactive, and the possibilities endless.

Chronicles- Coldstone Chrons (about PoG, no comments about anything else...) vs. Cythera Chrons.
Coldstone- PoG? What can there be here? The storyline is so straight forward that there's no room for adventures within it. You go on the quest, you win, you go back to being stable master. Wup dee doo. Do you see PoG chronicles anywhere? No...
Cythera- There is soo much room for expansion here. While you were on this quest, you did all sorts of side quests that might have nothing whatsoever to do with the main storyline. When you finish, life in Cythera goes on! Want proof? Read the board!
Final Line: Cythera.

You'll also notice, almost all of the Cythera chrons have nothing to do with the original storyline. They just use Cythera as a setting.
