It's finally time to choose our first ever chronicle of the month. The contenders are, in chronological order:

Vote now! The winner will have his or her named engraved permanently in Slayer's Guide to Cythera. In addition, Glenn Andreas himself informs us that he will create a small patch for the winner. Tentatively, the deadline for voting is one week, but as this is our first chronicle of the week, I may choose to extend the deadline if necessary.

I'll vote for Katerei's Shadow Prophecies.

Its a fun story and easy-to-read if you have a few minutes of spare time. She worked hard on it and deserves the credit.

cache is a good chronicle writer, and puts a lot of time and effort into his work. In most cases he would've taken my vote, but I'm just not very fond of the storyline in New Horizons Part 2 and I couldn't really enjoy it like I enjoy most of his other works.

I feel that it would be most beneficial if we post explanations of our votes, but I'll not impose a strict requirement that we do so.

Hrm -- for Glenn Andreas' offer, shouldn't it be whoever submits Chronicles in July, not just the released ones?

With the exception of a chronicle submitted by Mr. Somebody, all chronicles submitted this month have been released this month. Since Mr. Somebody has already had a chronicle released this month, I think things are completely fair as they are.

Besides, we'd have to wait until all chronicles submitted in a given month were released before voting, and that could take quite a while, sometimes (hey, I can dream, can't I? Posted Image) It could also lead to some extremely sparse months, since we might get a glut of chrons in one month and only one or two the next. If we base it on released chrons instead, it gets smoothed out.

Anyway, I don't think I'll be voting this month, since I've got one in the running.

Well, I was planning on submitting some this month, that's why, Slayer. Posted Image

I suppose I'll content myself with not having a chance at my own player in Cythera. :sniffle:

I'll vote for Collusion, conclusion... although it doesn't matter whether I vote for that or chapter eight.

I vote for "New Horizons, Part Two" by Cache 22. An incredible amount of time, effort, and talent must have gone into that chronicle, and it shows. I'll admit, though, it was tough to decide between that one and Katerei's. I think that most other months, Katerei would be the winner almost without contest.

You did.

I think I'll probably not vote, either, since I have a released chron here. (Don't want to jeopardize myself. Posted Image)

Heh. Actually, it's a fairly well-known saying. I did a little digging and found widespread reference to it, but I still have no idea who said it first.

If I counted correctly, the votes are as follows:

The Shadow Prophecies, Chapter Four- 2 Votes
New Horizons, Part Two- 2 Votes
Collusion, Conclusion- 1 Vote

So we need a tie-breaker. The next person to vote may have the power to decide who wins this month. Or, if Glenn Andreas agrees, both Katerei and Cache could be winners.

Hmm, ordinarily I would not vote for myself, but just to make it more interesting (3-way tie, and not give the victory to either cache or kat), I'll vote for Collusion: Conclusion.

Won't work, Bryce - if you vote, then Kat and I might as well vote, and we're back to a cache/Kat tie Posted Image

I suspect the deciding vote will be Ody's. I understand he's trying desperately to catch up on his reading Posted Image

I'm going to have to go with Cache on that one. We've already gone into overtime, so we'll need a tie-breaker, not a three-way tie.

There were four contenders, but only 1 complete loss! ME! Posted Image I lost the first chronicle of the month! If I lose so much consecutively, maybe I will get my name down too, seeing as how I can never beat Katerei, Bryce and Cache!
