Ok, something I've noticed. Quite a large number of people in these stories have characters that are elves. Now this is all well and good but Cythera never had elves in it. Has this been explained before? If not, can someone explain it now? Also, what actually is the attraction of elves? I don't see any dwarfs in these stories, why are elves any better? Sure, they look prettier (if you like the whole pointiness of face), but why should that make a difference?

Not that I'm complaining or anything...
;¬)

We do have dwarfs. They have a culture, and are much better explained than elves, IMHO.

Well, would you ask a dwarven female out on a date? Posted Image

Most of the elven characters come from outside Cythera - at least, those belonging to myself, Avatara and Moonshadow do. In fact, the same can be said about all of my characters except Sideline - who's also my only strictly human character, and was sort of an accident anyway.

I believe we'll get more on Moonshadow's and Ranari's origins in part 3 of The Kul'Shar Legacy, and I intend to do a chronicle about Brianna and the Scribe, eventually - probably after book 3 of the Ronin Saga: Balance of Power. If you want to know more about Avatara, try reading The Tale of the Treasure, in the Cythera archives.

That pretty much leaves Rogar (a half-elf, like Brianna), and Mr. Somebody's Larc and Martel. I have no clue about their origins.

As for my elves, I don't even know. Sya was born in Cythera, but she doesn't know where her parents were from. Amadeus still hasn't told me much yet. =]

That's not quite the question I was asking. Why elves at all? What's wrong with humanity? Also, how many of these elves have pimples, flat chests or beer bellies? I demand equal ugliness for elves!

Well, Sarg is deformed, and only has one eye...if you can get cache to describe him more, he almost seems like a human bouncer. Posted Image

Beauty, immortality, superiority- why wouldn't you want an elf?

Arrogence, Pointy face and ears and imortality. Living for ever would be such a drag! If I were imortal I'd probably seek either death in battle or search the world endlessly for new experiences- and and up falling to new depths of sadism, evil and perversity...
Humans very mortality is one of their strongest driving forces- for a human imortality must be achieved through heroic action or some great feat. Much more exciting...

As i understand it, the Cytherian elf is not immortal. They live quite a while though.

A couple of thousand years, we decided (or Avatara decided? Whatever; it's generally accepted, now.)

A couple of thousand years was my original idea. After talking with you, I settled on 1200-1400. Then again, that's my elves, and most of them probably won't die due to old age...
