Ambrosia Software Web Board: A knew idea: The land of Cythera - Ambrosia Software Web Board

Well i had a thought.
Maybe as well as (or instead of) the bar) we can have an entire land. This would be a great place to start TS, post ideas ect.
It would be like a TS because people could post as if they were anywhere in Cythera. Characters could take up different professions, say blacksmithing.
If some one wanted to buy a sword, then they would ahve to go to one of the blacksmithes. You could also have mini TS in here, ones not big enough for thier own topic. Like some one stealing king alarics crown ect.
If anyone doesn't quite get what i'm raving on about, please PLEASE tell me.

Yeah, I thought about starting a 'Cythera at Large' thread, about the time that Talos made his rant about the Tavern getting too off-topic and story-like. As things are going now, though, I don't think it would get the input it would need to keep it going. On the other hand, perhaps that restriction is what's killing the Tavern. What does everyone think? Is there enough support for the idea? If so, I'd be game.

I think it's a good idea too.

Idea sounds okay, but it could get boring. I suppose in here, we'd be dealing with day to day stuff. It could be interesting, to a point, and I admit, saving the world from evil again and again can also get boring…In short, and I quote "I dunno"

Yeah, and the threads would probly fall into disuse quickly. But it would be just like the bar is now... full of TS related bits, that way everyone could keep posting TS bits, while the bar could be kept free for incohenert and drunken rantings.

I can see what Avatara means, but practically every TS starts in the Tavern so it might be interesting to have them start elsewhere.

Yeah, that happened to me once in Kosha. Slept in the bed in the mage's place and when I woke up everyone was gone except the guards. I never duplicated it, but since yours works every time I should probably try again when I get around to it. Nice.

When the "tavern" topic first started, there were other threads. I remember there was one which took place in a house near the blacksmiths in Cademia. You could try it again, but I think that they will just fall out of use. The one nice thing about the tavern that the others didn't have was that it was a public place characters could go just to hang out.

As for "mini" team stories...well, if you compare the first ones to the ones now, you could fairly accurately call them mini. I, and probably others (for example, Talos) who were around when the first team stories started, didn't forsee how vast team stories would become. I think one or two relatively simple ones would be nice. I would almost certainly read them, and I might even post in them

Anyway, it'd be nice if we could keep the tavern going itself; I'm out of ideas - perhaps a sign I'm getting too old for this?

Though I should note while the tavern is a good place to spawn stories/chronicles, it shouldn't be dominated by them. Feel free to post idle banter or random discussions in there.
