A while back, I claimed "Area 4" on the map of Cythera in The Great LandGrab. If anyone cares, I've finally written down the culture and history of this area. Please forgive me if anyone has gone ahead and made their own ideas about "Area 4"; I don't keep up on Cythera board current events. Posted Image

"Area 4" is known in the Land of Cythera as Demazdor, but the locals generally refer to it as Kkamos. The few people that live on Kkamos are described below.

The Kkamass
A loosely united group of tribes that live on Kkamos. They are obviously human, but their skin is darker in tone than most Cytherians. They know little of the rest of Cythera. Indeed, they no little at all. However, they seem to have a better understanding of the "world beyond," a near-mythical place called "Earth," than other Cytherians. They believe that Kkamos, and apparently the rest of the Cytherian world, is actually on this supposed "Earth." They believe that they were cut off from the rest of the world by the magic of the ancients, who colonized Cythera itself. They further believe that the world of Cythera is really somewhere in the "Meddy Terr Anian Sea" (or something like that), but is somehow seperated from it. They claim that no Earth being can enter Cythera, and vice-versa. Many a young Kkamass has attempted to cross the void between the Cytherian world and "Earth," but none have ever returned.
The Kkamass are seperated into four guilds, which are in turn seperated into countless individual tribes. The guilds are: J'hss, Kllomar, Willk, and Ksomm. They are led by a king-type leader they call the "Ysst." The Ysst serves a life term and can be either male or female, but is usually male. New Ysst are chosen by the last Ysst's family.
The Kkamass speak a simple language with no real name, but most people are content to call it "Kkamassian."

The Kkam-Mage
These are a group of largely unremarkable mage who left the island of Cythera several centuries ago to lead a simple life of learning on Kkamos. They have created some very useful magical devices. One is a simple time machine that transports the user up to ninety seconds forward or backward in time. Another is a telescope that can let the user see for hundreds upon hundreds of miles. The Kkam-Mage are very thin. They train themselves to eat as little as possible (with a little magical help.)

The Pthrful
A group of fisherman who live on the northern coast of Kkamos. They are the only people of the island who keep in regular contact with the rest of the Cytherian world. They were originally at war with the Kkamass, but peace has settled between the two.

Wildlife of Kkamos
Most of the animals of Kkamos are similar to those of the rest of the Cytherian world. They have ratlizards and ratwolves which vary in color from the well-known green to mottled brown to a deep purple. The largest land creature on Kkamos is the six-legged unicorn. The largest creature in the whole Kkamos area is the Jujjece (joo-JESS) sea serpent, a terrifying ocean-dwelling creature sixty feet long. It feeds on anything in its path that moves. Fortunately for the Pthrful, the Jujjece population is only around twenty and the serpents rarely come too close to shore. There are few birds in Kkamos; instead, the island has a large group of six-legged, insectivorous flying lizards call Kujegggi. A single Kujeggg female can lay over four thousand eggs in a year. However, most of these are eaten by either the Kkamass or ratlizards, so the Kujegggi population remains stable.
The plants of the center area of Kkamos are highly unusual. Because of the poor soil in the center of the island, the plants there are mostly carnivorous, feeding off of creatures up to the size of ratlizards. There have never been any human fatalities caused by these "carniferns," but infants should not be left unattended anywhere near one of these plants. The carniferns come in many types. The smartest ones are estimated to be about as intelligent as a two-year-old human. Their "brains" work on a complex system of cause and effect. Some carniferns have roots that act as legs, carrying the plants around. One species even has extended leaves that let the plant glide short distances in the tree tops!

I probably will not edit even more in later. Posted Image

Well, I have a plan for my area, but I haven't got around to actually doing anything with it yet.

I must need serious help, when I saw "Area 4" I thought it was some deviation of "Area 51"...

Good job on the work so far Luke! Posted Image

I think I remember claiming something, but like many of the topics I've been posting in lately, no one responded and it flowed away with the webboard current... Posted Image

hmm, the time machine is a bit much, perhaps you can limit it to one, else there is little one can do about something whatsoever. there is nothing they can do and fierce wars for possession of the machine and time travel back to prevent such an occurance. itd throw in many many variables. Limit things so its more focused.

He was talking to me, and I changed the time machine, it can now only transport users up to 90 seconds forwards or backwards in time.

Looks to me like you already did! Notice the little brown flag with an 'm' near the top of the map?

Hmm, I guess I should work on my land, but I'd rather do that in a cron, which now that I think about it would have very little to do with Cythera. And the fact I should be working on another cron; Posted Image
