In my boredom, I had a sudden flash of insight (or insanity).

Can a recession in the webboards be similar to a recession in the economy? To solve the latter, the government can increase spending to stimulate the economy. Does this mean that to solve the former the mods increase posting to stimulate renewed interest?

Feel free to tell me how far overboard I've fallen.

[edit]idiot - I sure don't want to spend money on a webboard. Posted Image [/edit]

Overboard? You can't even see the boat anymore. Posted Image

But, at any rate, it is working.

I think these posts validated your point, actually.

Just like the economy, webboards have 'businesses' which cause posting, and can go into depressions if those 'businesses' fail. This board went into one after interest in the game itself tapered off before interest gathered for TSes. Oh, and Avatara - this theory was just one drop in the bucket of your insanity. I'm only trying to draw comparisons because I'm absolutely bonkers. :P

I guess it did, that's the second post you've made in the last 60 days. Posted Image

But the TSes are part of the reason I thought of it. Most of the "Golden Ages" of this webboard have been while there were multiple fun and exciting TSes, and/or an interesting tavern. (Tavern 2 is an example of one of these periods...there was another this past fall that started with the 'undead war')

I think that it is important to not just increase the money that's going into the board, but that it is also necessary to stimulate new interest. One way of doing this is to get current members to start playing Cythera, particularly after they've finished with Nova. =)

By the time that happens, the current slump in activity here will be over. Note that a lot of people won't be finished with Nova for looooooong time. Posted Image

I'm done. =)

Actually, I haven't got myself interested in Cythera just yet... I've played it briefly, and it seems fun, so I'm going to have to get myself to play it some more.

Scarilly enough I got bored with nova so I was looking at the other Ambrosia games when Cythera poped out at me. I am now intrapped...
