I was thinking about the new arangement for chronicle karma.
Well, it's about time! Lame chrons have been getting karma for too long.
Kudos to the mods for making this change.
On the other hand - How strangent will the standards be? Will the chron have to be a ten page epic of heidel-esqe writing in order to get karma?
Also - on a diffrent note - I think the quality for comments ought to go up now.
Not just 'Good work <member>, keep it up' or 'Nice writing, <member>!'
Perhaps some more detailed comments would be in order - exactly why was the chron good/bad? What could be improved? What was you're favrote part?
I know I get great joy from real feedback, and without the constant promise of karma, quality comments would still be there as an incentive for us.
If you want some examples of good feedback, you might want to check out the EV gallery.
Thanks for reading this.

Bryce, I'd like to say kudos to you for this additude. Now, I'm not a regular to this board, but I am at the Coldstone Chronicles. If you want to see a good system like the one Bryce suggests, I'd recommend a visit.
Also, we would really like new writers to submit material for that board. If you have a story that doesn't fit here because it's not in Cythera, and doesn't fit in EV because it's not Ev-related, feel free to submit to the CS crons. We accept all kinds of genres. I'd love to see some of you over there! [/sales pitch]
Just a warning: Karma does not flow nearly as freely on the CS crons as it has here in the past. At my last count, the last time we gave karma for a story was in September. But don't let that scare you away.

As long as the author has obviously put a lot of work into the chronicle, and it is of reasonable length and quality, karma will be awarded. The amount of proofreading that I have to do will also be taken into account.

That's a good idea. I think I'll try implementing it.

I certainly agree about having more detailed comments. I for one am always glad to receive advice or critisicm (sp?), and it seems generally anything except flaming is taken very well.
