Ambrosia Software Web Board: Web Board Fossil Record - Ambrosia Software Web Board

In accordance with the Bryce tradition of bringing you vaguely Cythera related information for (hopefully) interesting nature, I suggest we investigate the fossil record of the board.

Oddly, the record begins quite suddenly with the topic ‘Where Did all the old posts go?’, strongly suggesting that a tragedy of some kind wiped out all of the posts that had existed previously. This is confirmed simply be reading that topic.

I propose that the history of the web board into two parts:

Prehistory (Posts wiped out by Andrew)
Modern Times (Posts made after that time)

Anyway, I’ll need help compiling such a history, so who hear is willing to become amateur web board paleontologists?

There's probably no way at all to find these topics before the board's wipe, which I believe was because andrew was installing a new version of the UBB, or something like that.

Before Modern Times and after Prehistory was pretty much, the Cythera Boom. Lots of unregistered / old posters, as well as some people you know to this day, like Zelda, spamguy, and the like. After that, Cythera died down and the team story was invented.

BTW, I wasn't there at the time, I just look at ancient posts in my free time.

The very first TS ever on the Cythera boards, I believe, Talos started and it turned out to be a failure - he deleted that before members lost their ability to delete their own posts. (this was even before my time)

The one Talos and I started up a few months after that, trying to get the boards going again, is the neglected "Once Again" a few of us remember. After that, the "Undine Stronghold" was started by Slayer, and the stories/webboard started picking up.

If you want to remember the really old days, ask Slayer, he was around then.

Well, I would sleep less- give me a lot more time- but my parents make me go to bed. And I can't do my homework in my room 'cause my sister sleeps in the same room.

ahh yes. I'm not sure about the one that Talos first started I remember seeing the "Once Again" and "Undine Stronghold" stories. I don't think I ever joined either of them but I remember the Undine Stronghold well. Maybe I did join . but I'm not sure
