Ever so handy for when topics go on a serious tangent and others want to get back on-topic. Or maybe useful for spin-offs.
Lots of nifty things here, I can even hide posts from public viewing. And there's stickies too.
Sorry, mental note: excessive sugar = bad.

Yarr!
Hey, wait a minute, I didnt create this topic
Invision lets a moderator split a topic, and Avatara was just trying that feature out. You made that post in another thread.

The "report" button will be nice, for when some member catches something inappropriate (like another person posting porn links in the faq) that a moderator hasn't seen. Makes it easier than tracking down somebody on AIM and having them bring it up in the WR.
Though, a few features seem odd...I mean, I can edit polls. Is there a point in me editing the number of votes?

I don't believe so. Most boards no, a few boards yes - it depends on the board I guess, but I think its disabled by default. Possibly based on if you have to be logged in to post.

Not sure how to merge topics yet. I'll need a few "guinea pig" topics before I play around with that though, the ones currently in existence are probably not play-material.

being a member now is good, though avatar has let it be known it is godly to be a mod.

I hear they're working on a new and improved karma system, though just how improved is up in the air.

Sneak peek at the new mod abilities involving "karma".
In the past the karma system on the mod end was a simple button (kinda like the vote option buttons) asking if I wanted to warn or praise someone, and then a text box for an optional method.
While the current and future karma system isn't entirely hammered out, there's a lot more power behind it. (so much it sort of made andrew nervous, but it seems to be the only way to get it to work right, at the moment) For those of you that don't run your invision boards, how about a screenshot of what the new warning/praising window looks like: Warn.jpg (71.88K)
Number of downloads: 95
Its something that would make Tim Taylor ecstatic.

With v1.3 at least, reports go to all admins, but not mods.

Please note: The moderator will be made aware of the link to the post and the topic title.
Besides, on some boards the admin would be overwhelmed by reports, so breaking it down to the mod level makes sense. Guess I should give it a go anyway.

Come to think of it, most of our forums don't have mods, which might be why the reports only go to the admins.#22
