Hey guys, what's been up? It's been awhile since I've been able to come here and post regularly. I submitted a Chronicles today though...didn't quite turn out as well as I wanted it to do, but it's a start. Anyway, I came here to ask if any of you would be so kind as to test a text-based game I'm making. All the details are at http://www.AmbrosiaS...TML/000162.html .

This isn't going to require any kind of intensive testing at all. Heck, with what I've got in there right now, it will only take you five minutes to finish the little scenario I put together. What I'm interested in hearing is any suggestions you have for the game. What is going to make this game interesting is a combination of small things and nice capabilites. My goal is to make it fun to play, and I don't think that goal should be very difficult at all. So, I want to hear anything that you think would make it more interesting. One of the suggestions I've gotten is to include an ingame map -- I've decided this is an excellent idea, and I'm going to do it. So, if you do download it and test it out, please test it out completely. (This will require learning how to search for objects, pick them up, and use them -- the 'help' command will tell you how to do this). If you test it, I would really love an email with any suggestions, any at all, on how you think it could be better or more interesting. You can email me at mailto:sethclaus@aviaryproductions.f2s.comsethclaus@aviaryproductions.f2s.com .

Thanks to any who participate.

Sounds good. I checked out the game, not bad, it just took me a while to figure out it wanted 'north' instead of 'forward'. I'll spend some time and test it out, and see what i can do.

I like it. suggestions
1) You shouldn't have a "Which direction?" text instead have some thing like "What now?"
2) If they type an unreconisible command have something like "I didn't quite follow you" instead of "You can't go there"
3) Maybe have torches so that unless they are lite you can't see anything.

Apart from these (and the irelevent title) VERY COOL!!!!

That's why you're supposed to use the 'help' command. Posted Image I included it for a reason!

That is a good neutral prompt. Good suggestion.

Hrm. Maybe. I'm planning on giving each room that you can't go to an error message...maybe I'll do a combination of that and your suggestion.

Well, lighting isn't actually a factor. I suppose I could make it one, but the darkness was just to add to the mood. Posted Image

Thanks for the compliment....that's what keeps me going!

Oh, and one thing...if people send bugs / suggestions to my email, that is a lot easier for me. mailto:sethclaus@aviaryproductions.f2s.comsethclaus@aviaryproductions.f2s.com
